Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places in Strasbourg, but this little duplex on Rue des Balayeurs really surprised me. You know what struck me first? The name – Mon Ptit Nid literally means “my little nest” and honestly, that’s exactly what it feels like. It’s tucked away in Krutenau, which is this fantastic neighborhood that most tourists completely miss because they’re all clustering around the cathedral area.

The thing about Krutenau is that it’s where actual Strasbourgeois live – you’ll hear kids playing in the courtyards and smell dinner cooking from the windows above. The duplex itself sits on this quiet street (and I mean actually quiet, not hotel-brochure quiet), but you’re maybe a seven-minute walk from Petite France if you cut through the right alleys. The owners clearly know their stuff because everything feels thoughtfully put together without being fussy. The upstairs bedroom has these slanted ceilings that make you feel like you’re in a proper Alsatian attic, and the kitchen downstairs is actually functional – I’m talking real counter space and a decent coffee maker, not some sad little kitchenette situation.

What really won me over was the location within the location, if that makes sense. Sure, Strasbourg is lovely, but Krutenau has this village-y feel that the more touristy areas have lost. There’s this bakery called Au Petit Krutenau literally around the corner – their pain aux raisins is ridiculous – and the Saturday market on Boulevard de la Victoire is close enough that you can wander over in your pajamas if you’re feeling lazy. The tram line is right there too, so getting to the European Parliament or the train station is dead simple. I mean, parking can be a bit of a puzzle (it’s street parking, and locals know all the tricks), but honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t want to drive anywhere anyway. The 9.6 rating makes total sense when you realize this isn’t just accommodation – it’s like borrowing someone’s really nice life for a few days. The owners clearly live in Strasbourg and actually care about giving you the real experience, not some sanitized tourist version of it.

  Die Wohnung liegt in einer angenehmen Nachbarschaft, bietet viel Platz, ist charmant, sauber und sehr gut ausgestattet. Sie ist gut gelegen, zu Fuß 5 Minuten zur Tram. Wir sind auch häufig zu Fuß in die Altstadt gegangen.
  
  Die Unterkunft ist wirklich gut ausgestattet, die Küche sehr, sehr gut, der Kühlschrank war kühl. Auch ausreichend Toilettenpapier war da. 🙂 Waschmaschine, Trockner, Saugroboter, …
  Die Betten waren bequem. Eine Querlüftung ist möglich.
  
  Außerdem gab es Netflix- und Amazonzugang, die wir allerdings gar nicht benutzt haben.
  
  Der Zugang ist gut organisiert. Die Vermieterin reagiert innerhalb kürzester Zeit auf Anfragen. In der Wohnung fanden wir eine Mappe. Mit guter Anleitung, Übersichten und guten Restaurant Tipps.

  Przyjemne mieszkanie na poddaszu, ładnie urządzone i dobrze wyposażone. W upalne dni do dyspozycji mieliśmy kilka wiatraków.
  
  What could be improved: W upalne dni przydała by sie klimatyzacja bo mieszkanie jest na poddaszu. W weekendy bywa głośno w okolicy jest trochę pubów które rozkręcają imprezy.
