Look, I’ll be straight with you about Le Schoepflin – it’s one of those places that grows on you once you figure out what it’s actually about. The name’s a mouthful (locals just call it “the Schoepflin place”), but the location on Quai Schoepflin is honestly pretty sweet. You’re right along the Ill River, and I mean literally steps from where you can catch those tourist boats if that’s your thing. The “Vue toits” part of the name isn’t just marketing fluff either – depending on your room, you actually do get these nice rooftop views that feel very… I don’t know, European movie-ish? Especially in the morning when there’s that soft light hitting the old tiles.

It’s a 3-star spot with a 7.6 rating, which sounds about right once you’ve stayed there. The rooms are clean and comfortable enough, though don’t expect anything too fancy – think more “charming older building that’s been nicely updated” rather than sleek modern hotel. The walls are a bit thin (you’ll hear your neighbors if they’re chatty), but honestly, the location makes up for a lot. You can walk to Petite France in maybe 10 minutes, and the cathedral’s just across the river and up a bit. What I really appreciated was being able to duck into Krutenau – that’s the neighborhood you’re technically in – which has this great mix of students and locals. There’s this little bakery around the corner on Rue de Zurich that does incredible pain au chocolat, and the staff at the hotel actually told me about it, which was nice.

The check-in was pretty smooth, though they do that very French thing where they look at you seriously and explain everything in detail whether you asked or not. Parking can be tricky – there’s street parking but it fills up fast, especially during the Christmas market season when Strasbourg goes absolutely mad with tourists. I’d honestly recommend just using the tram system; there’s a stop super close by. The rooms facing the quai can get a bit of traffic noise during the day, but it dies down at night, and you know what? Waking up to see people jogging along the river and the morning light on the water kind of makes it worth it. It’s not luxury, but it feels authentic in a way that some of the bigger chain hotels in the city center just don’t. If you want to feel like you’re actually staying in Strasbourg rather than just some generic hotel that happens to be in Strasbourg, this place does the job quite well.

  L’emplacement du logement est idéal, il est bien aménagé et fonctionnel. Les équipements sont suffisants. L’appartement est dans un immeuble globalement calme (quelques nuisances sonores provenant du palier cela dit pour les personnes qui dorment au niveau de la mezzanine).
