Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Le Cocon? The name actually makes sense – it really does feel like a cozy little cocoon tucked away on Rue de la Course. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from Strasbourg’s main train station, which honestly saved my life when I was dragging luggage around after that long journey from Paris. The street itself is pretty quiet, especially compared to the busier areas closer to the cathedral, but here’s the thing – you’re still right in the thick of everything that matters.
The lumineux part of the name isn’t just marketing fluff either. The windows are actually generous, and during my stay in early spring, that natural light streaming in made the whole place feel way more spacious than it probably is. There’s something about European hotels where they really know how to work with light, you know? The rooms have this sort of minimalist-but-warm vibe going on – not sterile like some modern places, but not cluttered either. I appreciated that the furniture actually looked lived-in rather than like it came straight from a catalog. The bed was comfortable enough (though I’m not super picky), and the bathroom was clean with decent water pressure, which – let’s be honest – isn’t always a given in older French buildings.
What really sold me on this place was the neighborhood situation. You’ve got this perfect setup where you can grab groceries at the Monoprix just down the street (seriously, like a two-minute walk), but you’re also close enough to wander over to Petite France or the cathedral district without needing public transport. I found myself popping out for morning coffee at this little bakery nearby – I think it was on Rue du Jeu des Enfants – and honestly, that’s the kind of routine that makes you feel less like a tourist and more like you’re actually experiencing the city. The area gets pretty lively during lunch hours with all the office workers, but it settles down nicely in the evenings. One small thing though – if you’re a super light sleeper, you might catch some early morning delivery trucks, but it wasn’t anything that kept me awake. Overall, it’s one of those places where the 3-star rating feels about right – you’re not getting luxury, but you’re getting solid comfort in a spot that actually makes sense for exploring Strasbourg. For the price point, especially if you book in advance, it’s honestly a pretty smart choice.

Really well located apartment and very attentive host. The only issue was there was a bit of a smell – Jay from Ireland – 19 January 2025 (7/10)
Location was amazing!
What could be improved: The apartment had a bit of a smell that we couldn’t get rid of.Exceptional – Wakefield from Australia – 5 June 2025 (10/10)
Very comfortable, well equipped appartment in a very central location
Superb – Marta from Spain – 26 April 2025 (9/10)
– Daniela from Spain – 24 March 2025 (9/10)
Very good – Emmanuelle from Belgium – 7 August 2023 (8/10)
Merci beaucoup!
Exceptional – Richard from France – 17 April 2025 (10/10)

Aceptable. – Francisco from Spain – 22 January 2025 (6/10)
Confortabilidad aceptable. Ubicación buena (15 min andando a la catedral).
What could be improved: El olor del baño. Realmente desagradable.
What could be improved: La calle del apartamento no daba mucha fiabilidad. Disappointing – Didem from Turkey – 8 February 2025 (4/10)
