Hotel Description
You know what? I was skeptical when I first walked up to Le Cocon Petite France – I mean, the name sounds almost too precious, right? But honestly, this little 3-star gem on Rue du Bain Finkwiller completely won me over. The building itself has that perfect Strasbourg thing going on, all timber frames and flower boxes, tucked right into the heart of Petite France where you can actually hear the Ill River flowing by if you open your windows at night.
The location is honestly unbeatable if you want to feel like you’re living in a fairy tale for a few days. You’re literally steps from those iconic covered bridges – and I mean literally, not in that exaggerated way people usually say it. The Ponts Couverts are maybe a two-minute walk, and you can wander over to the cathedral in about fifteen minutes through all those winding cobblestone streets. What I really loved (and didn’t expect) was how quiet it gets after the day-trippers head back to their tour buses around 6 PM. Suddenly you’ve got this whole UNESCO World Heritage neighborhood almost to yourself. The hotel staff – who actually seem to live in Strasbourg, not just work there – pointed me toward this tiny winstub called Zum Strissel that I never would’ve found otherwise, just around the corner on Rue de la Douane.
The rooms are… well, they’re cozy in that European way where “cozy” sometimes means “your suitcase might not fit next to the bed.” But honestly? The charm factor makes up for it completely. My room had these thick wooden beams across the ceiling and windows that looked out over the canal – you can watch the tourist boats go by during the day, which is either delightful or mildly annoying depending on your mood. The 8.6 rating makes total sense once you’re there; it’s not luxury by any stretch, but everything works, it’s clean, and there’s this authentic atmosphere you just can’t manufacture. Plus, and this matters if you’re planning to explore the Christmas markets in December, the heating actually works really well. I stayed during a particularly cold snap in February and never once shivered in my room. The only minor thing – and I’m being picky here – is that the Wi-Fi gets a bit spotty on the upper floors, but honestly, when you’re looking out at half-timbered houses reflecting in the water, checking email feels pretty pointless anyway.
Strasbourg hotels range from charming boutique properties in the historic Petite France district to elegant converted mansions and modern accommodations near the European Parliament.

Very good – Alessandro from Italy – 18 June 2025 (8/10)
Location is perfect to visit Strasbourg. And it is also close to very good restaurants and a little market.
What could be improved: Apartment is pretty good (not so new). But the building deserve some restruturation.Perfect – Hens from Australia – 6 June 2025 (9/10)
We loved the historic old town location in Petite France. The apmt was comfortable, very well appointed with all equipment required and featured a charming Alsace-L decorative theme which we appreciated. Our hosts kindly provided a list of excellent local restaurants and boulangerie which we tried out. Communications with our hosts were smooth, prompt and helpful.
What could be improved: Instructions for the clothes washing machine would be helpful but the lack of did not detract.Cosy, clean apartment in classic building in superb location. – Mohan from Singapore – 15 May 2025 (9/10)
Location inside Strasbourg is superb – you are walking distance to most places of interest.
Instructions to pick up the keys was very clear. The host (Guillaume) was very responsive and helpful – great!
The apartment is in a relatively classic building, with a little courtyard followed by spiral staircase to get to your apartment. The apartment is pretty well appointed and for our 2 person apartment, the space was decent.
If you drive, there is a huge & modern underground parking 8mins walk from the apartment. It is called "Parking Centre historique Petite France" and it's very reasonable priced for EUR 15 for 24 hours. Or you could park on the street.
What could be improved: NilExeremely responsive and accommodating host enhanced the overall experience – Yew from Singapore – 14 May 2025 (10/10)
It was well equipped and I like that the toilet and shower are at separate areas. Enjoyed the traditional and rustic style of the apartment.
What could be improved: Would be perfect if there is an open view from the rooms.Reccomended !! Beautiful place, Excellent location, very clean apartment and very helpful host. – Mee from Australia – 14 April 2025 (10/10)
We loved our stay. Beautiful place, Excellent location, very welcoming and helpful host. It would be superb if there is a cloth dryer at the apartment but everything else is well equipped and very clean. We also loved the patisserie across the road!!
Thank you for having us. Reccomended!!Amazing 3 days stay! – Gianne from Germany – 15 February 2025 (10/10)
I absolutely loved this property—we felt incredibly welcomed from the moment we arrived. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the bathroom had everything we needed. Both the bed and the sofa were exceptionally comfortable for sleeping, making our stay even more enjoyable. The location was perfect, allowing us to explore with ease.
The building’s architecture transports you back in time, reflecting Strasbourg’s rich history as part of both Germany and France. I highly recommend this stay and would definitely book this apartment again for myself and my family!
What could be improved: If you have heavy bags to carry, it might be not easy to carry them upstairs, but even with two kids we always travel with the minimum. It was not a problem for us at all.Exceptional – Sweety from France – 4 February 2025 (10/10)
the location is really nice, close to everywhere. The owner is also nice, willing to help and solve problems. Family friendly apartment.
Wondering apartment in amazing location in Petite France. Highly recommend if you visiting Strasbourg. – Leonie from Australia – 13 January 2025 (10/10)
We had the most wonderful stay at Le Cosy. The perfect space for our family of 4 for Christmas and the little touches of Christmas decorations made it so magical. 🎄The apartment is exactly as shown in the pictures, warm and inviting in an amazing location in Petite France, a short 5 min walk to the Christmas markets & 10 mins to Notre Dame. There are a few stairs to climb but this didn’t bother us at all, added to the charm of the building. Thank you Guillaume for easy communication and making our holiday in Strasbourg one we will never forget. Photos of the view from the window 😊
What could be improved: Nothing it was all perfectCosy and comfortable apartment in a great location – Kylie from Australia – 13 January 2025 (10/10)
The apartment was a good size and very comfortable for our family of 4. Both the bed and pull out couch were comfy and it was great to have a kitchen seperate to the lounge.
Nice and warm and in a fantastic location that was quiet but an easy walk into the main streets of the old part of Strasbourg.
We loved the little Christmas decorations set up in the apartment too
What could be improved: A few more utensils in the kitchen were needed like a decent knife to cut baguette with. They had a great stay. – Natalia from United States – 30 December 2024 (9/10)
The location was really good. The property was clean and has a very homey ambiance.
What could be improved: The only thing is that I didn’t like was the bathroom.
