So I stumbled across this place on Grand’Rue purely by accident – was actually looking for somewhere else entirely when I spotted the address. Honestly? Best mistake I made in Strasbourg. The Cosy T2 sits right on the main pedestrian street, which sounds like it could be a nightmare for noise, but you’re up on the second floor so it’s actually perfect for people-watching without all the chatter drifting up to your windows.

The thing about staying right on Grand’Rue is that you’re literally in the thick of everything – I mean, you walk out the door and you’re already where tourists spend their whole day trying to get to. But here’s what the guidebooks don’t tell you: early morning on this street is magical. Around 7 AM, before the shops open, you get this completely different vibe. Just locals heading to work, the occasional delivery truck, and honestly some of the best light for photos if you’re into that sort of thing. The apartment itself has this lived-in feel that I actually prefer to those sterile hotel rooms – you know what I mean? Real furniture, a proper kitchen if you want to grab groceries from the Monoprix down the street, and windows that actually open (trust me, you’ll appreciate this in summer).

What really sold me on the place was how the owner clearly knows Strasbourg inside and out. None of that generic “welcome to our city” stuff – I got actual recommendations for where to eat that weren’t just the obvious tourist traps around the cathedral. Speaking of which, you’re maybe a five-minute walk from Cathédrale Notre-Dame, but far enough that you’re not dealing with tour groups congregating right outside your door all day. The 8.5 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here a few nights. It’s not trying to be fancy – the building’s got that slightly creaky charm of old Strasbourg architecture – but everything works, it’s genuinely comfortable, and the location is just unbeatable. I will say, if you’re someone who needs a concierge and room service, this probably isn’t your speed. But if you want to feel like you’re actually living in Strasbourg for a few days rather than just visiting it? This is exactly what you’re looking for. Plus, and this is honestly a big deal, you can walk to Petite France in about ten minutes, but you’re also right here when you want to duck into one of the wine bars or grab dinner without having to trek back across the city.

  This cosy apartment is located in a perfect location, with just a few minutes' walk to the old town. We enjoyed the very comfortable beds, and the apartment had a nice ambience. Everything was lovely and clean.

  Perfect location for wandering around the old town before most other tourists, and easy for us to walk from the train station. May also be suitable for cyclists. Nice that very few combustion-engined vehicles allowed, so mostly just hear people talking in background with only occasional shout or dog bark, and street air was clean. On second floor, so early morning tourists wheeling suitcases over cobbles were too quiet to bother us. As the flat has a washing machine we didn’t use the laundrette, but it is very close by if you are the adventurous type. Two shops very close in same street for self-catering supplies (one shop also exits into another street causing my wife to get lost!). Neighbours say ‘bonjour’.
  
  What could be improved: Shower a bit low for tall people. Although the building stairs are wide and not steep please take care as some steps are irregularly spaced, and tall people beware some low headroom in the shared parts of the building. There is a slight smell of smoking in the central courtyard. Some neighbours say the tap water is not so nice.

  The location of the apartment allowed good access to everything Strasbourg has to offer and it was only a ten minute walk from the train station. The size of the apartment was very nice for two people.
  
  What could be improved: Very noisy location until 1:30/2:00 am due to bars right outside the building. Everything is rundown. There was a panhandler asking for money right outside the building entrance whenever we went in or out. The unit has very poor lighting and is very dark. Many of the walls are painted an unattractive reddish brown colour. The sliding bathroom door has no hardware and is impossible to close. The rain showerhead is mounted too low – if you are 6’ tall or more you cannot stand under it. There were a lot of tiny flies in the unit which was surprising for January. This property was rated favorably by others which is why we booked it. However, we felt that it did not meet our expectations and we would not book this property again.

  What could be improved: Arrivando non è assolutamente chiaro quale sia l'appartamento non c'è scritto nella sala porta e non è neanche chiaro che quello dove si trova sia il secondo piano per capirlo abbiamo dovuto chiamare e farci spiegare con una video chiamata. Altro disguido l'appartamento affittato per tre adulti avevo solo un letto matrimoniale pronto abbiamo dovuto cercare noi le cose e aprire il divano letto. Credo che chi predispone le cose debba preparare tutti i letti prenotati
