You know, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Appartement Agréable Robertsau when I first pulled up to Rue Boecklin – it’s one of those quiet residential streets in the Robertsau district that honestly feels more like a neighborhood where locals actually live than a touristy area. And that’s exactly what makes this place work. The building itself has that understated Alsatian charm without trying too hard, and when you’re walking up to check in, you get the sense that you’re staying somewhere real, not some cookie-cutter hotel experience.

The apartment setup is actually pretty clever – it gives you way more space than you’d get in a traditional hotel room for the price, which is saying something in Strasbourg. I mean, having a proper kitchen means you can grab fresh stuff from the markets (there’s a decent one just a few streets over on Avenue de la Forêt-Noire) instead of eating out every meal. The furnishings are simple but comfortable – nothing fancy, but everything works and it’s clean, which honestly matters more than Instagram-worthy decor when you’re trying to get a good night’s sleep. The Wi-Fi actually holds up if you need to get work done, and the shower has decent water pressure, which… well, you know how hit-or-miss that can be in European apartments.

What I really appreciate about this spot is the location – Robertsau feels like you’re getting a glimpse of how Strasbourg actually functions when the tour groups go home. You’re about a 15-minute tram ride from the cathedral and all that (the Robertsau – La Wantzenau stop is your friend), but you can also just wander around the neighborhood and find little bakeries and cafés that don’t have English menus. The area gets pretty quiet at night, which is great if you’re a light sleeper, though it might feel a bit too residential if you’re looking for nightlife right outside your door. Parking isn’t terrible if you’re driving – street parking is usually available, though you’ll want to pay attention to the signs because they’re pretty strict about the zones. The 7.6 rating feels about right; it’s not going to blow you away, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. For the price point and the amount of space you get, especially if you’re staying more than a couple nights, it’s honestly a solid choice that lets you live a bit more like a local than a tourist.

  Excellent location, close to the public transportation and heart of Strasbourg. Apartment is located in basement, which was a great advantage during very hot season – it stayed cool despite heat outside. Clean and well-equipped
  
  What could be improved: It is forbidden to throw used toilet paper to the toilet, which was ridiculous. Lack of regular windows (only small ones at the top of the walls) can be a disadvantage, too.
