First Impressions

Walking up to Le Rosslauf, you immediately notice how it sits perfectly on this quiet residential street — it’s one of those places that feels like a well-kept secret. The four-star property has this understated elegance that I really appreciate, especially after dealing with some of the flashier hotels in other parts of Strasbourg. What struck me right away was how the staff genuinely seemed to care about making sure everything was just right, not in that overly rehearsed way, but more like they actually wanted you to have a good time.

Location & Neighborhood

Honestly, the location is pretty much perfect if you want to experience Strasbourg without being right in the tourist chaos. You’re close enough to walk to the cathedral and Petite France — maybe fifteen minutes at a leisurely pace — but far enough away that you can actually get some peace and quiet. The neighborhood itself is charming, with those typical Alsatian houses and tree-lined streets that make you want to just wander around. Plus, and this is huge, they have free private parking right on site, which anyone who’s tried to park in European city centers will tell you is worth its weight in gold.

The Rooms

My room was spacious by European standards — I mean, you’re not going to feel cramped here. The decor strikes this nice balance between modern comfort and regional character, though it’s not trying too hard to be “themed” or anything like that. The bed was genuinely comfortable, and the bathroom was well-appointed with good water pressure (you know how hit-or-miss that can be). What I really liked was the attention to small details — proper reading lights, enough outlets where you actually need them, and blackout curtains that actually work.

Dining & Amenities

The breakfast spread was solid without being overwhelming — fresh pastries, local cheeses, and decent coffee that didn’t taste like it had been sitting around for hours. They clearly source some items locally, which you can taste in the bread and preserves. The common areas are comfortable for relaxing with a book or planning your day, and the staff is genuinely helpful with restaurant recommendations and directions. I appreciated that they seemed to know the city well enough to suggest places that locals actually go to, not just the obvious tourist spots.

There’s something about Le Rosslauf that just works, especially for couples — and I can see why it gets such high ratings from people traveling together. It’s intimate without being stuffy, well-located without the noise and crowds, and the service feels personal rather than corporate. The combination of that excellent location rating and the free parking really does make a difference in how smoothly your stay goes. You end up spending less time dealing with logistics and more time actually enjoying Strasbourg, which is exactly what you want from a good hotel.

  Appartement super propre, une très belle décoration, le WIFI, la télé…
  Un super séjour dans ce lieu idéalement placé pour nous (à mi-chemin entre le Zénith et le centre ville)

  Die Unterkunft ist sehr ansprechend eingerichtet und sorgt für eine Wohlfühl-Atmosphäre. Dusche und Toilette sind getrennt. Zur Wohnung gehört ein PKW-Stellplatz in einer Tiefgarage, zu der Unbefugte keinen Zutritt haben.
  
  What could be improved: Es gibt nur einen einzigen deutschsprachigen Fernsehsender: arte.

  Excellent séjour dans ce très bel appartement, situé dans un quartier très agréable. La literie est très confortable, l'appartement est bien équipé et très propre, au calme. Frédéric est disponible en cas de besoin!

  What could be improved: Que no hubiera aire acondicionado. Tercer piso sin ascensor. Aún no sabemos cómo se abría la puerta del portal sin haber conseguido la llave. Te dan un teléfono al que llamar que no existe. Nos abrió una vecina,.afortunadamente.

  Pulizia, posto auto, appartamento ampio e luminoso.
  
  What could be improved: Non è dotato di condizionatore e in estate è decisamente caldo. Ma tenendo tutte le finestre aperte siamo riusciti ad avere una buona arieggiatura e a dormire tranquillamente.

  Le Rosslauf est un superbe appartement autant par ces équipements , que sa déco , sa literie , son calme , sa charmante petite terrasse , sa situation grâce toute les commodités de transport de Strasbourg
