Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about The POINT CITY-Center? I was expecting another generic business hotel when I walked up to Place Kleber, but this place actually has some personality. The location is honestly kind of perfect – you’re literally on one of Strasbourg’s main squares, which means you can stumble out the front door and be at the cathedral in maybe three minutes. I mean, Place Kleber is where everything happens in this city, so you’re right in the thick of it without feeling like you’re staying in some tourist trap.

The building itself sits on this corner spot where Rue de l’Outre meets the square, and there’s something satisfying about having that solid urban presence while still feeling distinctly Strasbourg. Inside, they’ve done this modern renovation that actually works – clean lines and contemporary touches without erasing the character of the neighborhood. The rooms are well thought out, honestly better than I expected for a four-star in this price range. What I really appreciated was the attention to sound insulation because, let’s be real, Place Kleber can get lively, especially during the Christmas market season or when there’s some event happening. But even with my room facing the square, I slept fine.

Here’s the thing about staying right on Place Kleber – you’re walking distance from basically everything worth seeing in Strasbourg’s city center. The tram stops right there if you need to get further out, and honestly, the whole Petite France area is just a pleasant fifteen-minute stroll through the old streets. I found myself using the hotel as a perfect base camp, ducking back between exploring sessions or before heading out for dinner in the evening. The staff seemed to actually know the city well (not always a given), and they pointed me toward this little winstub tucked away near the cathedral that I never would have found otherwise. The check-in was smooth, no drama with early arrival, and they stored my bags without any fuss. Sure, parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this part of town – there’s underground parking nearby but it’ll cost you, which is pretty standard for central Strasbourg. Overall, it’s one of those places that just works well for what it is: a solid, comfortable hotel that puts you exactly where you want to be in the city, with enough character to feel like you’re actually staying somewhere that belongs in Strasbourg rather than just landing in any anonymous hotel room.

Reviews

  • Great value for what we paid in a brilliant location. We were upgraded to a larger apartment on a lower floor and it was – Lauren from Australia – 14 July 2025 (9/10)

Its location was perfect for exploring Strasbourg. The room itself was beautiful and the furniture and fit out very good. Communication was perfect – the host met us at the car to show us to the rooms. Also provided some great recommendations for local restaurants.

What could be improved: There is no reception which didn’t affect us at all. The stairs into the apartments are steep and narrow. It appears that much of the building is still under renovation.

  • Comfortable in Nuremberg – Tracey from Australia – 13 December 2024 (8/10)

Clean and close to train station and old town

What could be improved: The reception staff were not friendly. No tea and coffee making facilities in rooms

  • Very good – Christine from United Kingdom – 8 December 2024 (8/10)

Location was excellent. Great view of the Christmas Tree

What could be improved: Pillows were terrible. Very flat.
If storing luggage, it has to be stored at a different location

  • Loved it, should have closed windows and turned on a/c to muffle outside noise. – Hoffman from United States – 10 October 2024 (9/10)

  • Great city – Dimitrios from Switzerland – 1 May 2024 (9/10)

The location is great and the staff was super kind and helpful. Although the building is pretty old, the apparentment is completely renovated. It is a nice experience overall.

What could be improved: It is a very old building without an elevator. The total experience is nice, but it is something to have in mind if you have mobility issues.

  • Beautiful spot for two – Stefani from Cyprus – 24 April 2024 (8/10)

    Its location and the view

What could be improved: The stairs, it was really difficult with the bags and the stroller and that we had to wait in the parking to get a card to get in and wait for to give it back at our exit
