Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first pulled up to 28 Rue du Wickenfeld, I wasn’t expecting much – you know how these residential streets in Strasbourg can be, sort of tucked away and quiet. But this place completely surprised me. The whole apartment has been gutted and redone, and I mean *really* redone, not just slapped with fresh paint like some rentals. You walk in and there’s this immediate sense that someone actually cared about getting the details right.
The three bedrooms are genuinely spacious, which is rare for European city stays, and the renovation work is honestly impressive – new floors, updated bathrooms, the kind of kitchen where you’d actually want to cook if you picked up ingredients from the Saturday market at Place du Marché aux Poissons (about a 15-minute walk, totally doable). What really sold me though was the double parking situation. I mean, if you’ve ever tried to park in Strasbourg’s city center, you know this is basically like finding gold. No circling blocks for twenty minutes, no worrying about your car – just pull in and you’re done. The Neudorf area where this sits is actually pretty perfect for that, residential enough that parking isn’t a nightmare but still connected to everything you want to see.
You’re maybe a 10-minute tram ride from the cathedral and all the touristy bits in Grande Île, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the crowds and noise when you want to decompress. The neighborhood itself has this lived-in feel – there’s a decent bakery two streets over, and you’ll see actual Strasbourg families doing their daily routines, not just tourists snapping photos. The tram stop is close enough that you don’t need to plan your whole day around transportation, but honestly, I found myself walking more than expected because the route into the old town follows the Ill river and it’s actually quite nice. The apartment stays surprisingly quiet even during the day, probably because Rue du Wickenfeld doesn’t get much through traffic – it’s more of a residential dead-end situation. One small thing: the building entrance is a bit understated, so don’t expect some grand hotel lobby experience, but once you’re inside the actual space, the quality is obvious. That 9.9 rating makes sense when you factor in the combination of the renovation quality, the parking convenience, and just how smoothly everything works – good water pressure, reliable wifi, proper heating. It’s the kind of place where you settle in on the first night and think, okay, I could actually live here for a week and feel normal.

Fantastic base for visiting Strasbourg. Real home feeling with respectful and caring owner on site. – David from Czech Republic – 10 March 2025 (9/10)
The host lives on site and was very quick and willing to deal with the little issues that came up. Quiet area, parking, and also good bus connection to the centre of Strasbourg. Appreciated the old furnitue and tiles. A real home not just a commercial air bnb.
What could be improved: There were small problems at the start but the host dealt with them very well.Exceptional – Dell from Turkey – 12 July 2025 (10/10)
Ev sahibi Eddie bizi karşıladı, evi ve strazburg'a nasıl kolay ulaşım sağlayacağımızı ayrıntılı bi şekilde tarif etti. iki aracımızı park ettik. Ev geniş ve eşyalar yeterli idi. Çok memnun kaldık. Hem europarka hem colmara ulaşım sağladık.
najlepszy apartament, w jakim byłem – Ignacy from Poland – 17 June 2025 (10/10)
What could be improved: brak.Super schönes verlängertes Wochenende in Strasbourg – Alexander from Germany – 13 May 2025 (10/10)
What could be improved: –C’était formidable, on recommande chaudement. – Alessandro from Belgium – 30 April 2025 (10/10)
Exceptional – Cécile from France – 27 February 2025 (10/10)
What could be improved: Rien à signaler
