Look, when I first walked up to Studio hyper centre on Rue du Faubourg-de-Pierre, I’ll be honest – the name had me expecting something a bit more flashy than what I found. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t try too hard to impress you right off the bat. This little 3-star spot sits right in that sweet zone where you’re close enough to everything that matters in Strasbourg without paying those crazy cathedral-view prices.

The location is actually pretty brilliant if you know the city at all. You’re literally a 5-minute walk from Place Kléber – I mean, you can hear the trams rumbling by, which some people might find annoying but I found oddly comforting. It’s like the city’s heartbeat, you know? And here’s something the hotel websites won’t tell you: there’s this amazing little boulangerie just around the corner that opens at 6 AM, so you can grab proper croissants before the tourist crowds even wake up. The studio rooms are… well, they’re studios, so don’t expect a sprawling suite, but they’re thoughtfully laid out. Mine had this tiny kitchenette that was actually useful – not just one of those fake ones with a broken mini-fridge. The bed was surprisingly comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and the bathroom, while compact, had decent water pressure. The whole place feels more like a well-designed apartment than a typical hotel room, which I suppose makes sense given the name.

What really sold me on this place was how genuinely local the neighborhood feels. You’re not stuck in some tourist bubble – there are actual Strasbourgeois walking their dogs, buying groceries, living their lives around you. The Faubourg-de-Pierre area has this authentic Alsatian vibe without being all touristy about it. I’d wander out in the evenings and find these little wine bars where locals were speaking rapid-fire French and Alsatian dialect, just a few blocks from the more polished spots near the cathedral. Parking can be a bit of a pain if you’re driving – street spots are tough to come by, and the nearest garage is about a 7-minute walk – but honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t need a car anyway. The staff was refreshingly straightforward, no fake smiles or over-the-top hospitality theater, just helpful people who seemed to actually know their city. The 7-out-of-10 rating feels about right – it’s solid, reliable, and does what it promises without any major surprises (good or bad). If you’re the type who needs a concierge and room service, look elsewhere. But if you want a clean, comfortable base for exploring Strasbourg that doesn’t feel like every other chain hotel, this little studio setup might be exactly what you’re looking for.

  Close location to downtown. Very responsive host. Close to restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets as well.
  
  What could be improved: The apartment building is still under construction ( there’s no rail for the stairway, need to be careful when climbing. Also the control at the building entrance is not activated yet anyone can enter the building by pushing the door). The host did explain the delay of construction via a welcome letter in the apartment and gave a complimentary wine. But it could have been better to indicate this in the apartment info before any guest could make an informed decision. The heater is making noises day and night (even if I lower the temperature). Also the fuse box is completely exposed and it keeps making noises and blinking nonstop at night. If you are a light sleep you won’t get any sleep. The boiler for the water is located above the ceiling, you have to climb up and reach through a hole on the ceiling to turn on the gas heater. The wall socket is located behind the bed headboard. If you want to charge anything close to bed, your device would be hung in the air and you might need a few pillows to find the support. Overall, very responsive host but the apartment needs some fine tuning before it’s ready.

  What could be improved: No instructions on how to use gadgets in room tv attached to some sort of control system and microwave . Pity about the building renovations going on in building therefore the entrance is presently a bit of a work site and stairways a bit grubby but still good value for money in Strasbourg being right on the edge of the heat of the city.

  Très bien placé, petit studio avec tout ce qu'il faut.
  
  What could be improved: L'immeuble est assez bizarre, comme si il n'était pas complétement fini. La douche est agréable mais il y a un "carreau" qui n'est pas complètement fixé au sol et donc qui bouge. Il faut faire attention.
