Hotel Description
So I’ve stayed at the Residence Inn on Boulevard de Dresde a few times now, and honestly? It’s become my go-to when I need to be in Strasbourg for more than just a quick weekend. The building itself is this modern glass thing that looks a bit corporate from the outside, but don’t let that fool you – inside it’s actually got this warm, residential vibe that makes sense once you realize it’s designed for longer stays.
What really sold me on this place is how it sits right in that sweet spot between the tourist chaos of Petite France and the business district. You’re literally a ten-minute walk from the cathedral (I timed it), but you’re not dealing with the crowds of drunk tourists stumbling back from the winstubs at midnight. The tram stop at Étoile is right there too, which – trust me – you’ll appreciate when you’re lugging groceries back from the Monoprix. Speaking of groceries, that’s where this place really shines. Every room has a proper kitchen, not just some sad mini-fridge situation. I mean, we’re talking full-size appliances, decent counter space, even a dishwasher. The first time I stayed here I was skeptical about the whole “extended stay” concept, but after making coffee in my pajamas instead of hunting for an open café at 7 AM? Yeah, I was converted.
The staff here actually remembers you if you’re staying more than a few days, which sounds small but makes a huge difference. There’s this woman at the front desk – I think her name is Sophie – who started recommending restaurants based on what she remembered I’d liked before. That kind of attention is rare, especially in a chain hotel. The rooms themselves are spacious by European standards, though the décor is pretty safe (think beige and burgundy, very Marriott). But honestly, when you’ve got that much space and a kitchen that works, you stop caring about whether the artwork is inspiring. One thing though – if you’re a light sleeper, ask for a room facing away from Boulevard de Dresde. It’s not terrible, but there’s definitely some traffic noise, especially during morning rush hour. The gym is decent if you’re into that, though it gets crowded around 7 PM when all the business travelers finish their meetings. Pool’s nice too, actually – nothing fancy, but it’s usually pretty quiet and the water’s always the right temperature. What really impressed me is how they handle the breakfast situation. Instead of the usual continental spread that’s picked over by 9 AM, they do this extended breakfast thing until 10:30 on weekdays, noon on weekends. Game changer if you’re not a morning person or you’re dealing with jet lag.
Look, this isn’t the most charming hotel in Strasbourg – if you want historic timber beams and creaky floors, there are plenty of boutique places in the old town. But if you’re staying for work, or with family, or you just like having space to spread out without paying luxury hotel prices, this place gets it right. That 8.9 rating isn’t just numbers – it’s because they’ve figured out what people actually need when they’re living somewhere temporarily, not just passing through.

Great everything but not the breakfast – Sergei from Luxembourg – 23 July 2025 (8/10)
Everything is up to the brand’s standards and super new
What could be improved: Much advertised breakfast turned out to be like in 2 star hotels – maybe we were offseason as there were no euro bureaucrats in the hotel, I don’t know the reason but breakfast was very primitivePerfect stay in Strasbourg. Good facilities and a clean room. – Nick from Netherlands – 22 July 2025 (10/10)
Great location, great staff, great room and a good breakfast. The gym was also very nice.
What could be improved: Nothing, to us, everything was very good.Exceptional – John from United Kingdom – 21 July 2025 (10/10)
What could be improved: No indication of the name of the hotel from the outside apart from a tiny sign on a door
Lovely Hotel to stay in just outside city – Anthony from United Kingdom – 21 July 2025 (9/10)
Very large clean apartment, everything needed for a few days stay. Locatiion very good just jumped on tram E or B or Bus H which takes u into the center or train station. Bed very comfortable nothing not to like. So much to choose from for breakfast very well worth the money. Strasbourg very pretty city
What could be improved: The sign for the hotel could be larger as it shares with another hotel (AC hotels) and this could have been clearer. Air condition in room was poorGood value for money. – Lalrinmawii from India – 20 July 2025 (10/10)
Spacious room with good facilities.
Superb – Stylianos from Switzerland – 16 July 2025 (9/10)
Big and clean room, comfortable bed pillows and mattress, good parking facilities directly under the hotel building, 7-8 mins by tram to the city center and located very close (3-4 mins walk) to the European Commission building.
What could be improved: Breakfast could be improved ,as there were not many options. I expect more options from a 4 star Marriot hotel.
Also it is not satisfactory that Marriot Bonvoy members can not collect points at Marriot hotel when they make a reservation via booking.com. Unfortunately my request to add Marriot Bonvoy points was rejected , stating that I should make a booking directly via the Marriot website if I want to add points.Perfect stay! – Eric from United Kingdom – 15 July 2025 (10/10)
10/10….perfect stay. Location, room, breakfast were the best I've been in so far.
Will definitely come back when in Strasbourg.
What could be improved: The Gym is adequate for up to 5 guests at one time.Superb – Eric from United Kingdom – 15 July 2025 (9/10)
Loved it….everything was perfect. Breakfast was great.
What could be improved: NothingExcellent stay – spacious studio, great location, and amazing breakfast! – Aura from Romania – 12 July 2025 (10/10)
We had a wonderful experience staying at this studio. The rooms were very spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the bathroom was equally large and well-equipped. Everything was spotless and well maintained.
The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh, tasty options – definitely one of the highlights of our stay.
Location-wise, it was perfect for getting around the city. We could easily reach the apartment from the train station by taking bus D, and getting to the city center was quick and easy via tram B or E. The European Parliament was just one tram stop away, which was a pleasant surprise for us!
Overall, a great place to stay – quiet, convenient, comfortable, and with a lovely breakfast. We would definitely return!
What could be improved: –A great find in Strasbourg. – Eric from United Kingdom – 11 July 2025 (9/10)
Everything was great. We had the Standard Studio on the 5th Floor. The room was spacious and elegant, , the bathroom was nice – good water pressure. Breakfast was great, a fantastic variety of breadfast selection.
Great location, the tram station 'Wacken' is 4 mins walk from the hotel and 16 – 20 mins ride to the town centre. 35 mind on foot (2.3 km).
Staff were professional and friendly. There is a supermarket and restaurants nearby – 2 mins walk. Free street parking on the street at the back of the hotel, but it's dependant on availability.
What could be improved: The gym is a bit small but enough for a good cardio. Will be difficult to accommodate more than 5 people at one time.
