Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of fancy places in Strasbourg, but the Pavillon REGENT PETITE FRANCE just hits different. The moment you walk up to 6 rue des Moulins – which is tucked into this impossibly charming corner of Petite France – you realize you’ve found something special. I mean, you’re literally surrounded by those half-timbered houses that look like they jumped out of a fairy tale, and the hotel somehow manages to feel both historic and quietly luxurious without trying too hard.
What really gets me about this place is how they’ve nailed the details that actually matter. The rooms face either the canals or these little cobblestone streets, and honestly, both views are pretty magical (though if you’re a light sleeper, maybe request away from the main walking routes – Petite France gets busy with tourists during the day, but it’s wonderfully quiet after dinner). The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood – they’ll tell you which boulangerie has the best pain au chocolat in the morning or which route to take to avoid the crowds heading to the cathedral. You know what I love? They don’t just hand you a generic city map; they actually mark up spots based on what you’re into.
The building itself has this beautiful old-world character – thick walls that keep things surprisingly quiet, and these gorgeous windows that let in tons of light. I’ve stayed there in both summer and winter, and there’s something about how the light hits those canal views that’s just… well, it’s the kind of thing that makes you pause your morning coffee. The five-star rating isn’t just about thread count and marble bathrooms (though those are lovely) – it’s more about how everything feels thoughtfully done. Like, the heating actually works properly in winter, which sounds basic but trust me, it’s not always a given in these historic buildings. And that 8.8 rating makes total sense when you factor in location – you can walk to the cathedral in maybe ten minutes, but you’re far enough from the main tourist chaos to actually relax.
Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this part of town (the streets are medieval-narrow), but the hotel sorts that out for you. The breakfast situation is solid – not one of those sad continental spreads, but actual local specialties and really good coffee. I always end up lingering there longer than planned, partly because the food’s good and partly because you can watch the early morning light hit the water through these big windows. It’s the kind of place where you find yourself planning your next Strasbourg trip before you’ve even checked out.

What could be improved: You have to be careful when you do the check out as they might add extra charge and you need to review the bill before you pay as they charged me extra night for parking and also for breakfast but thanks Allah I noticed thatA great stay in a great location – Chris from United Kingdom – 8 July 2025 (10/10)
The room with perfect aircon as soon as I walked in, perfect decor, location of the property and Claire the receptionist was amazing, very enthusiastic and an asset to the hotel, after directions from Tom Tom and iPhone sat nav that I got the address from booking.com took me to a car park on the other side of the canal, tried to pay with card and cash but nothing so tried to pay with apps which one of the three they use allowed me pay, that took 30 minutes to finally pay standing there like a idiot setting the trip off to be a disaster and getting annoyed with the situation, I finally got to the hotel and Claire greeted me and the annoyance disappeared straight away, made the whole trip much much better, she gave me the address on the iPhone maps and got me there straight away 😃, wish I had stayed longer
What could be improved: The hot water took a little time to warm up, maybe the water pressure isn’t the best in the area but didn’t make the trip any less greatexceptional !!! – Carolyn from South Africa – 30 June 2025 (9/10)

Everything! Perfect location. Beautiful property. Excellent staff and service. Terrific accommodations. It’s the best.
What could be improved: Unfortunately, there was a conflict and they double booked guest stays against a private party which took over the hotel, forcing guests to leave including us. It was truly unfortunate not to have the second night.Excellent stay! – Chantal from Canada – 4 June 2025 (10/10)
