Hotel & Spa REGENT PETITE FRANCE Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Hotel & Spa REGENT PETITE FRANCE honestly feels like stepping into a beautifully restored piece of Strasbourg history. The building sits right on rue des Moulins in the heart of Petite France — you know, that impossibly picturesque district with the half-timbered houses and canals that everyone posts on Instagram. What strikes you immediately is how they’ve managed to blend historic charm with genuine five-star sophistication without making it feel stuffy or overdone.

The Perfect Strasbourg Location

I mean, you really can’t ask for a better spot in the city. You’re literally surrounded by those iconic Alsatian buildings, and the cathedral is just a pleasant walk through cobblestone streets that feel like a movie set. The location score of 9.8 makes total sense when you realize you can explore the entire historic center on foot — the European Parliament, the covered bridges, those charming winstubs (traditional Alsatian restaurants) are all right there. Couples especially seem to love wandering these romantic streets, and honestly, I get it.

Rooms That Actually Deliver

The room I stayed in was genuinely impressive — spacious by European standards with those high ceilings that make everything feel grand. But you know what really stood out? The beds are actually as comfortable as they claim, which isn’t always the case even at luxury hotels. The bathrooms feel indulgent without being excessive, and the views either overlook the historic district or the peaceful inner courtyard. The attention to detail is there — quality linens, thoughtful lighting, and that perfect balance of modern amenities in a historic setting.

Spa and Dining Experience

The spa facilities are where this place really shines as a luxury destination. After walking around Strasbourg all day (which you absolutely will), having access to proper wellness facilities feels essential rather than just nice-to-have. The restaurant serves refined cuisine that respects the Alsatian culinary tradition while adding contemporary touches — think elevated versions of regional specialties rather than generic hotel food. Breakfast is a proper spread with both continental and buffet options, so whether you want a quick croissant or a full meal before exploring, you’re covered.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is how it enhances rather than distracts from the Strasbourg experience. The parking situation is sorted (which is actually a big deal in this historic area), the staff genuinely knows the city and can point you toward hidden gems, and the overall vibe feels authentically connected to the location. You’re not just staying near the best of Strasbourg — you’re staying in the middle of it, in a hotel that feels like it belongs there. For couples especially, there’s something magical about returning each evening to this elegant retreat after exploring one of Europe’s most romantic cities.

Reviews of Hotel & Spa REGENT PETITE FRANCE

  • Brilliant place. Would love to stay again if we are in the location. – Paul from United States – 23 July 2025 (10/10)

We stayed here toward the end of our France and Switzerland tour, so had relatively low expectations, but the hotel was excellent in almost every aspect. Room size was great. We may have had two of the best locations in the building, overlooking the water. Modern renovations, great shower, nice size cupboards. Very helpful staff. I personally lucked out because one of the pillows they had was seriously good and possibly my new go to, if i can get a couple delivered to the US. Breakfast was excellent, on a gorgeous terrace location. Location is perfect for walking to all the shops and restaurants. We did not get to taste the main restaurant experience, a little pricey for our budget at the end of the vacation and with 3 small children.

What could be improved: The only suggestion I can come up with is that the toilet door could have a lock of some kind. My granddaughter is a 'visitor' to us and it was a little nerve wracking trying to keep her out whilst mother nature called. Not a biggie.
For other travelers – be attentive to the message the hotel send to get you access through the pedestrian streets if you have a car. It is a little tough to get to initially.

  • Only there for one night but well worth it! – Sue from United Kingdom – 17 July 2025 (10/10)

    Lovely hotel with great staff.

  • Luxurious hotel with awesome staff – Kemal_the_traveller from Turkey – 12 July 2025 (10/10)

Everything. It felt like 5 star ultra luxurious hotel. Staff facility and especially the location was awesome. Close to everywhere and its restaurants cannal view was awesome. Have a bottle of wine in the evening in that restaurant is the must.

    What could be improved: Nothing.

  • Great Stay! – Veronica from United States – 11 July 2025 (10/10)

We had a great experience in this hotel. We traveled with my sister and we both enjoyed the spa! We also felt very safe in the hotel and the neighborhood! (After having a weird situation at the train station)

What could be improved: I booked an appointment in the spa for 30 minutes and I only got 20. After talking I got another 10, but in a different session.

  • Amazing, incredible, and one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in – Chandra from United States – 10 July 2025 (10/10)

What didn't I like? The location was possibly the best location in Strasbourg. I was a bit worried because I was driving, but they gave instructions to my travel companion and she met me and got me to the hotel, where they parked the car. The hotel is located on the water – literally. It is built over a few small rivers. My room was really big and overlooked the water which meant I could sleep with the window open and hear the sound of the water rushing below. The staff was possibly the nicest I've ever met. Couldn't do enough. The bar was lovely and the outside seating was great. The breakfast was fantastic. Strasbourg may be my favorite city in France, and this is in my top 5 favorite hotels I've ever stayed in.

What could be improved: I can't think of anything. The only thing we didn't try was the restaurant, but I'm sure it was great. Getting there was a little complicated? But the staff made it easy so…

  • Charming Stay in the Center of Strasbourg – Veronica from United States – 7 July 2025 (8/10)

Lovely hotel in a great central location. The staff was friendly and helpful. It’s a 10-12 minute walk from the Strasbourg train station. It was flat and doable with luggage and easy to find this hotel. The staff can hold your luggage while you explore. The hotel has a fridge and the room is comfortable.

What could be improved: Late check in. I wish it was 2pm instead of 4pm. We were very tired and wanted to take a nap after waking up early to catch the train to get here. They said our room wasn’t ready to check in early but they were allowing other guests to check in early.

  • Utterly fabulous thanks to Fatya – Louise from United Kingdom – 7 July 2025 (10/10)

Fatya completely made our stay. We have never experienced such genuine warmth and kindness. Our daughter Olive has autism and completely 'imprinted' on Fatya who was utterly delightful with her, letting Olive 'help' her with her work and showing her around the hotel. Every time we returned back to the hotel, Fatya would give Olive a big hug and ask her what she'd been up to and they are now lifelong friends! Our daughter cried all the way home – she was devastated to leave. The staff at this hotel are second to none, it made our entire weekend so memorable and the attention to detail is phenomenal.

What could be improved: The very corporate looking outside of the hotel which is a shame because it is in such a beautiful location and the team who run it are so wonderful.

  • Wonderful hotel in a great location. – Denese from United States – 7 July 2025 (10/10)

The hotel is in a great location in a charming section, right on the canal. Our room overlooked a lock. The outdoor dining area was lovely and next to the water. It was an easy walk to the sights in the old town. The staff was amazing. Breakfast was wonderful.

What could be improved: Everything was great.

  • Nice hotel – Sandra from United States – 2 July 2025 (9/10)

    Location, air conditioner, spa

What could be improved: Need a shower mat so people won’t slip and fall. Also add grab bars.
