Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first walked down Impasse de la Grande Boucherie, I almost missed this place entirely – it’s tucked into one of those narrow medieval passages that Strasbourg does so well. But once you spot the entrance, you’ll understand why they called it “vue magique cathédrale.” I mean, the cathedral view from the upper floors is pretty spectacular, especially when those Gothic spires catch the late afternoon light.
The location is what really makes this spot work. You’re literally in the heart of Vieux Strasbourg, maybe two minutes from the cathedral square, but somehow you’ve escaped most of the tourist chaos. The building itself feels authentically Alsatian – you know, that half-timbered charm that the region is famous for – though it’s clear they’ve modernized the interiors without going overboard. The rooms are cozy (and I actually mean cozy, not “European small”), with decent heating which you’ll appreciate if you’re visiting between November and March. The bathrooms are compact but functional, and honestly, the water pressure was better than I expected for a historic building.
What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, despite being so central. The impasse doesn’t get much foot traffic after the restaurants close, so you can actually sleep with the windows cracked open – something I always prefer in older buildings where the ventilation can be hit or miss. During the day though, you’re right in the thick of things. There’s a fantastic boulangerie about thirty seconds away on Rue des Grandes Arcades (grab their kougelhopf if they have it), and the Saturday morning market at Place du Marché aux Poissons is close enough that you can smell the fresh bread and cheese if the wind’s right. Parking is… well, it’s Strasbourg’s old town, so forget about street parking. There’s a public garage about a five-minute walk away, but honestly, once you’re settled here, you won’t need a car anyway. The tram stops at Langstross-Grand’Rue, which connects you to the train station and the European quarter if you need it. The 7.2 rating feels about right – it’s not luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises: a genuine Strasbourg experience with that cathedral view as your daily backdrop.
Visitors often choose Strasbourg apartments over traditional hotels because they provide more space, kitchen facilities, and the opportunity to live like a local in this magnificent European capital.

Cleanliness of the property itself
Location amazing
What could be improved: The stairs were very narrow & uneven & site did not adequately explain the amount of stairs.
Would have liked extra towels
Only 1 spoon in kitchen utensils, had to eat breakfast separately ☹️Good – Desislava from Bulgaria – 12 December 2023 (7/10)
Perfect location for a short stay.
What could be improved: The street door was damaged. We had a big problem with access in the building.Very good – Melissa from Canada – 7 July 2025 (8/10)
The location and views from this location allow for ease of walking and majestic views of the city centre.
What could be improved: The suite is up many flights of stairs with no lift making it hard to navigate with travel baggage. Additionally, the suite is quite warm with no air conditioning.Superb – Djordje from Serbia – 17 April 2025 (9/10)
position, the view from the bedroom and from the living room is incredible 😍😍
Everyrhing is few steps from accomodation.
What could be improved: the pull-out bed in the living room had dirty linens…Great! – Stefka from Belgium – 12 May 2025 (9/10)

Location, center of Strasbourg
What could be improved: Super small, description doesn’t align with reality (no iron, no hairdryer). Not ideally clean, there is some mold at the shower. For a young couple with one backpack would be okk – Ergen from Turkey – 1 January 2024 (5/10)
– The location is absolutely perfect- in the middle of everywhere.
What could be improved: – first of all how could you manage to show the house that big in the photos. It’s too small we had a real shock!
– The sheets and towels are so old dirty and yellowish. They smeel bad and at first they dont seem and smell clean
– As we are in France and we rent a house, we expect to have a wine opener in the kitchen. But we have to buy it!
– – It’s on the 4th floor with no lift. Becomes too difficult to climb up with children. Has to be consideredSüßes Mini-Appartement mittendrin – Ina from Germany – 1 June 2025 (7/10)
Lage perfekt für eine Städte Trip! Stilvolle hübsche Einrichtung! Mittendrin im Geschehen und eine tolle Aussicht aus dem Dachfenster.
What could be improved: Zeitweise unangenehmer Geruch nach Abwasser.
Hat man etwas mehr Gepäck dabei, wird’s eng und der Transport des Gepäcks ohne Fahrstuhl ist etwas anstrengend.
Bei sehr warmen Wetter wird’s heiß und stickig unter dem Dach.Very good – Juan from Ecuador – 21 September 2024 (8/10)
– Catherine from France – 29 June 2024 (8/10)
