Appartement moderne au centre ville Overview

First Impressions

When I first walked up to Appartement moderne au centre ville on Rue de l’Elbe, I’ll be honest — the building itself doesn’t scream “look at me.” But that’s actually part of its charm. This four-star property sits quietly in one of Strasbourg’s most coveted neighborhoods, and once you step inside, you realize why couples consistently rate the location a perfect 9.0. The modern apartment setup gives you that “living like a local” vibe, but with all the polish you’d expect from a quality hotel.

Location & Neighborhood

You know what really struck me about this spot? You’re literally in the heart of everything, but it doesn’t feel touristy or overwhelming. The Petite France district is just a short stroll away — I mean, we’re talking maybe 10 minutes on foot to those iconic half-timbered houses everyone comes to see. But here’s the thing locals know: this particular street puts you close enough to duck into authentic Alsatian bistros that most visitors never find. The fact that recent guests rated the location 8.2 doesn’t surprise me at all — you can walk to the cathedral, hit the Christmas markets (if you’re there in season), and still feel like you’re staying somewhere with character rather than a generic hotel zone.

The Space

The room setup is what really sets this place apart from your typical hotel experience. Everything feels thoughtfully designed — clean lines, plenty of natural light, and that perfect balance between modern comfort and European charm. The kitchen area actually works (trust me, I’ve stayed in places where the kitchenette is basically decorative), so you can grab fresh ingredients from the local markets and prepare a simple meal if you want. Honestly, after a day of walking around Strasbourg’s cobblestone streets, having space to spread out and relax properly makes such a difference.

Practical Perks

Here’s something that’ll save you both money and headaches — they offer free private parking right on site. If you’ve ever tried to park in central Strasbourg, you’ll know this is basically like finding gold. Most places in this area either don’t have parking at all, or they charge you an arm and a leg for it. I watched other travelers circle the block for twenty minutes looking for street parking while I was already settled in. It’s one of those details that might not seem huge when you’re booking, but becomes incredibly valuable once you’re actually there.

Why Guests Love It

What keeps people coming back (and rating this place consistently well) is how it strikes that sweet spot between independence and service. You get the freedom of an apartment-style stay, but with the reliability and cleanliness standards of a proper hotel. The location really is the star here — couples especially seem to love how easy it makes exploring the city together, whether you’re wandering through the European Parliament district or just finding a cozy wine bar for the evening. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it delivers exactly what most travelers actually want: a comfortable, well-located base that doesn’t break the bank.

Reviews of Appartement moderne au centre ville

  • Passable – Katarzyna from Poland – 23 June 2025 (5/10)

    Good size of the appartment

What could be improved: This appartment could be quite loveley if only it were cleaner, less cluttered, if the towels/ bed linen were less worn out, and if there was no lingering smell of cigarettes…

  • Logement agréable pour 6 personnes mais le procédure de remise des clés est à revoir. – Patricia from France – 9 May 2025 (7/10)

L'emplacement près du tramway. La luminosité et l'organisation confortable de l'appartement.

What could be improved: La gestion des clés a été problématique.

  • Don’t come. – Mor from Slovakia – 14 April 2025 (1/10)

    Worst experience

  • Poor – Nasr from United Arab Emirates – 6 December 2024 (3/10)

What could be improved: Our stay at this property was unfortunately disappointing due to several major issues:

Delayed Check-in Instructions: We received the check-in instructions only 3 minutes before the scheduled time, leaving us stranded at the station, anxious and unsure of what to do.

Inconvenient Key Collection: The instructions required us to walk 15 minutes with our luggage to collect the main door keys, only to walk 15 minutes back to the property. This was unnecessarily inconvenient.

Poor Bathroom Setup: The shower lacked any curtains, which made using it uncomfortable and messy.
Uncomfortable Amenities: The pillows were far from comfortable, making it difficult to sleep well.
Lack of Cleanliness: The place was not properly cleaned after the previous guests, which was very disappointing.

Unreasonable Check-in/Check-out Times: With check-in at 5 PM and check-out at 10 AM, it’s hard to justify the 7-hour cleaning window, especially considering the cleanliness issues we experienced.

Deposit and Scamming Practices: The host required an €800 deposit through an external link outside of Airbnb. On top of that, they tried to charge €1000 for alleged "damage" based on vague photos of two white lines on the parquet. They also attempted to claim money from the deposit platform. This felt like a scam and left a very negative impression.

Overall, this was one of the most stressful and disappointing stays I’ve had on Airbnb. I strongly recommend addressing these issues to ensure a better experience for future guests.

  • Apartament in new area of Strasbourg – Roxana from Denmark – 11 July 2024 (8/10)

The apartment is light and nice

What could be improved: The apartment is not that clean…

  • Would definitely stay again! – Kim from United States – 26 June 2024 (8/10)

The apartment manager was incredibly helpful and super prompt with his responses. The apartment was spacious and clean. Each of us had our own bedroom, which was great.

What could be improved: The queen size bed is not as comfortable as the other two which would be my only complaint. Also would have loved air conditioning on some of these 80° days but I know that’s just a French thing.

  • Decent location and flat but complicated entry and basic facilities inside and early check-out – Pari from United Kingdom – 25 April 2024 (6/10)

The host was friendly and reachable by phone. The flat was spacious and clean, relatively modern, and the beddings were clean too. The location was good, right next to a tram stop.

What could be improved: The key lock was far away from the flat and the key was totally unnecessary, as everything opened with codes! There were far too many codes involved, which necessitated a couple of phone calls with the host, as not all of them were given in advance. The flat was missing basic items, such as a light in the kitchen to enable cooking, beddings and duvet for another double bed, a mirror and a towel holder in the bathroom, a shower curtain, a rug for the shower, a toilet bin for the shower room, shutters for one of the 3 bedrooms (which ended up being super bright). We did NOT appreciate being rushed out at 10am by the cleaner on a Sunday even though check-out was at 11am.

  • Exceptional – Angelika from France – 11 April 2024 (10/10)

The flat is nice and big and has everything you might need during a holiday. Ale gave us all the instructions on how to get to the place and in and was really helpful in answering all the questions we had. 🙂

  • Superb – Iryna from Switzerland – 20 December 2023 (9/10)

It was really easy to find the place where the key was hidden. It was a really comfortable apartment and we had everything that we needed for the Family. We were staying with the small children. It was clean, with a big dinner table for everybody, and a lot of space in the Bathroom and toilet. It was clean (no dust under the Table or Bed and no dust on the plants). The supermarket and the Bakery are just 1 min walk from the apartment. The Tram station is just a 3-minute walk from the apartment. We enjoy staying there. I read the comments about this Flat and I think the person who booked this apartment and got the wrong address just booked another Apartment, because there are two of them, almost with the same name. I highly recommend this apartment.

  • An ideal accommodation for a trip away with friends. – Anonymous from Ireland – 10 July 2023 (8/10)

It was very spacious with a lovely outdoor area, as well as a good location.

What could be improved: The only thing we did not like was some confusion with finding the key to enter initially, as there was a mistake in the instructions, but other than that we liked everything.
