Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from an apartment hotel with such a long French name, but Le Rubis completely surprised me. It’s tucked away on Rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau in Strasbourg’s city center – and I mean properly in the heart of things, not one of those “city center” places that’s actually a 20-minute tram ride away. You know what struck me first? The building itself has this lovely Alsatian character but the apartment inside feels genuinely modern and thoughtfully designed. The “cosy” part of the name isn’t just marketing speak – they’ve actually nailed that balance between luxurious and homey that so many places get wrong.

What I really appreciated was how they’ve thought about the details that matter when you’re staying somewhere for more than just a night or two. The kitchen is actually functional (not just a mini-fridge and a coffee maker calling itself a kitchenette), and the living space feels substantial enough that you’re not constantly bumping into your travel companion. The “neuf” – new – part is spot on; everything feels fresh and well-maintained, which honestly makes such a difference after you’ve stayed in too many places where the “luxury” is just old furniture with fancy price tags. I mean, the bathroom alone probably has better lighting than my apartment back home.

Being right in Strasbourg’s historic center means you’re walking distance from pretty much everything worth seeing – the cathedral is literally a few minutes’ stroll, and you’ll find yourself wandering past those postcard-perfect half-timbered houses just getting back from dinner. But here’s the thing locals know: this particular street is just far enough from the main tourist drag that it doesn’t get the constant noise and crowds, especially in the evenings. I was worried about street noise (city center apartments can be brutal), but it was surprisingly quiet at night. The 9.1 rating makes sense when you experience it – it’s one of those places where small touches add up to something that feels special rather than just expensive. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re driving, but honestly, once you’re settled in here, you won’t need a car anyway. The trams are right there, and half the charm of Strasbourg is just wandering around on foot.

  What could be improved: Kuhinja nije dobro opremljena – nema perilicu suđa niti pećnicu, ali ni dovoljno velike lonce, nema poklopaca za lonce, zapravo je vrlo teško išta skuhati, pogotovo za peteročlanu obitelj. Nismo mogli skuhati niti tjesteninu za nas 5 jer nije bilo dovoljno velikog lonca. Izuzev kuhinje, sve ostalo je bilo izvrsno!

  On a passé un bon week-end en famille dans l'appartement et à Strasbourg! La Maison est bien situé par rapport au centre-ville et autres endroits. Et elle est vraiment bien pour une famille de 5 voire plus ou même en groupe d'amis.
  Si on avait besoin de quoique ce soit comme ils l'ont dit, on pouvait aller voir l'hôte.
  Les chambres sont spacieuses :)!
  C'était bien, ma famille a bien aimé l'appartement.

  Nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans le logement d’Aurelie. L’appartement est intégralement rénové et tous les équipements sont neufs.
  Situé au bord du fleuve on a apprécié la quiétude et le calme du quartier très bien desservi pour visiter Strasbourg ! Un arrêt de tram se trouve à 2 minutes !
  Aurélie s’est montrée disponible pour nous renseigner et flexible pour nous arranger sur l’heure de départ.
  On conserve cette adresse pour une prochaine fois !

  L’appartement est juste derrière l'arrêt du tramway 🚊, donc pas besoin de la voiture. 10 minutes du centre et du marché de Noël. Personne très agréable et réactive. Encore merci pour vos petites attentions ( chocolat + brioche maison).
