Logis Hôtel Restaurant Au Cerf d’Or Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Logis Hôtel Restaurant Au Cerf d’Or, you immediately feel like you’ve stumbled upon one of those hidden gems that locals actually know about. The building sits right on Place de l’Hôpital in the heart of Strasbourg, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better — couples seem to agree since they’ve rated it 9.6 for romantic getaways. It’s one of those three-star places that doesn’t try to be something it’s not, but what it does, it does really well.

Perfect Strasbourg Location

You know what I love about this spot? You’re literally in the thick of everything without feeling overwhelmed by tourist crowds. The cathedral is just a short stroll away, and you can easily wander through those winding cobblestone streets that make Strasbourg so charming. I mean, you’re close enough to Petite France that you could walk there for sunset photos, but far enough from the main tourist drag that you’ll actually sleep well at night. The tram stops are nearby too, which makes getting around the city pretty effortless.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had that classic Alsatian charm — nothing fancy, but comfortable and clean with thoughtful touches that show someone actually cares about guest comfort. The windows open onto the square, and there’s something nice about watching daily life unfold below while you’re getting ready for the day. The beds are solid (no creaky springs here), and the bathroom, while compact, has good water pressure — which honestly matters more than you’d think after a day of walking around the city.

Dining That Actually Delivers

Here’s where this place really shines — the restaurant downstairs isn’t just hotel food, it’s actually good. They serve proper Alsatian dishes alongside more contemporary options, and the breakfast spread is surprisingly comprehensive. Continental basics are covered, but they’ve also got vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options that don’t feel like afterthoughts. The buffet setup works well, and you can fuel up properly before heading out to explore. I appreciated that they source locally when possible — you can taste the difference.

Why Guests Love It

What keeps people coming back is the combination of that unbeatable location and the fact that it feels authentically Strasbourg rather than generically European. The staff knows the neighborhood well and can point you toward the best boulangerie or recommend which winstub to try for dinner. Parking can be tricky in this part of the city, but they’ll help you figure out the best options nearby. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere real rather than just passing through — and in a city as beautiful as Strasbourg, that connection makes all the difference.

Reviews of Logis Hôtel Restaurant Au Cerf d’Or

  • No swimming. – Philip from United States – 10 July 2025 (7/10)

    Near to tram & shops.

What could be improved: It advertises itself as having a pool. This is technically not a lie. However, to be able to do laps in this pool, I would need to to be roughly the size of a rabbit.

  • Great stay – Michael from United Kingdom – 4 July 2025 (9/10)

    The location is great.

What could be improved: We had thought the spa was included for 1 hr a day from the description but it is not. However it was just €20 for us to have exclusive use which was lovely

  • Great little hotel in heart of Strasboug – Julie from United Kingdom – 22 June 2025 (9/10)

    Location, helpful staff

What could be improved: Pool was a little small

  • Appreciate the location – Rika from Japan – 6 May 2025 (7/10)

    Location, friendly staff

What could be improved: Two of the lights in the were blinking, and should have been replaced before we checked in.

  • Superb – Camilla from Switzerland – 25 March 2025 (9/10)

The building is beautiful and in a great location . The welcome was warm and friendly I had a lovely room very comfortable. I paid to use the spa which was fabulous after a day sightseeing. I also had dinner in the restaurant and had breakfast . Food was fantastic and all the staff were so kind.r

  • Easy and relaxing. – Utku from Turkey – 2 March 2025 (9/10)

The location is good for city center, food and beverage places are very close. Room design is simple and relaxing. There is a big park place which is closed area (with payment) very near with 5 minutes by walking. Breakfast is standart according to other hotels. Staffs are very polite and helpful. Room is clean enough.

What could be improved: No any negative.

  • Great location for sightseeing Strasbourg – Martin from United Kingdom – 3 October 2024 (8/10)

Located just a few minutes walk from the city centre. Lovely old building with some unique features. Staff were fantastic. Breakfast was cold buffet type but really good, great variety.

What could be improved: Our room was not in the same building but a few doors down the street. Although very comfortable and all the required facilities the room was a little tired and could do with updating.

  • Superb – Steven from United Kingdom – 8 September 2024 (9/10)

Breakfast was good, Spa was lovely and staff were very friendly.

  • Wonderful location, excellent beds and rooms, very clean facilities and perfectly located. Friendly staff and amazing sp – Michael from United Kingdom – 27 August 2024 (8/10)

Very well presented and clean facilities. The staff were friendly. Easy access to the room late at night.

What could be improved: It lists on booking.com that the price for the stay included 1hr30min at the spa but this is not the case. The message is a question from a client and a response from Elodie from hotel management. We paid extra for the spa.

  • Very good – Line from Norway – 5 August 2024 (8/10)

The hotel is situated very centrally in Strasbourg, only a short walk from the old town and amazing cathedral. The rooms were Big, spacious and the beds very comfortable. We also enjoyed the spa and sauna after a long drive in our car. The service was great.

What could be improved: Unfortunately we forgot a jacket in our room when we left, and it seems to have been stolen. We have not been able to retrieve it.
