You know what caught me off guard about Les Dentelles? The name actually makes perfect sense once you’re standing on rue des Dentelles – this narrow cobblestone street in Petite France has these intricate iron balconies that honestly do look like delicate lacework against the half-timbered buildings. I mean, I’ve walked through this neighborhood dozens of times as a tourist, but staying right here gave me a completely different perspective on one of Strasbourg’s most photographed districts.

The apartment itself is refreshingly modern inside – clean lines, smart design choices, nothing fussy. It’s sort of a relief after spending days wandering through all that medieval charm (which is gorgeous, don’t get me wrong, but sometimes you just want a sleek bathroom and proper lighting). The space feels thoughtfully put together rather than just furnished with whatever was on sale. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re literally in the heart of the tourist zone. Those thick old walls do their job, and by 10 PM most of the day-trippers have headed back to their hotels in the newer parts of town. The morning is actually my favorite time here – you can grab coffee from the little place around the corner on rue du Bain-aux-Plantes before the crowds arrive, then wander down to watch the Ill River without dodging selfie sticks.

Honestly, the location is pretty unbeatable if you want to be right in the action. You’re a three-minute walk from the covered bridges, five minutes from the cathedral (though you’ll hear the bells – fair warning), and close enough to the tram stops that getting to the European Parliament or the train station is straightforward. Parking is… well, it’s Petite France, so don’t expect miracles, but there are a few public lots within reasonable walking distance. The 7.8 rating seems about right – it’s solidly good without being spectacular, and the three-star classification fits. It’s not luxury, but it’s comfortable and well-located, which honestly matters more when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days rather than just passing through. I’d definitely stay here again, especially in shoulder season when the streets aren’t quite so packed with tour groups and you can actually enjoy sitting by the water without feeling like you’re in someone’s vacation photo.

  It is very well located, a short walk to everything interesting. It was clean and well equipped. The shower was really welcome, as was the air conditioning.

  What could be improved: The property was awful. There was zero hot water available in the shower and sink taps and the staff was impossible to reach. They were always closed and there was no one on sight in Strasbourg to help me. The wifi was not strong to work and I had to leave the next day because of all the stress this property caused with zero hot water, no wifi, and no one to communicate with throughout my stay.
  
  This isn’t a property owned by a local person but a corporation in another country. I do NOT recommend ever staying here, you will only be left with stress, especially in the winter!
