Hotel Description
So here’s the thing about Les appartements Hyper centre – the name actually tells you everything you need to know, but I’ll fill in the gaps anyway. You’re literally on Rue de l’Épine, which honestly sounds more romantic than it looks (it’s basically a narrow side street), but that’s exactly why this place works so well. You’re tucked away from the tourist chaos but still close enough to everything that matters.
I mean, when I say hyper centre, they’re not kidding around. You can stumble out the front door and hit Place Kléber in maybe three minutes if you walk fast – which, let’s be honest, you probably will because Strasbourg’s compact like that. The cathedral’s spire is basically your landmark from most of the windows, and you know what? That never gets old. The whole setup feels more like borrowing a local friend’s apartment than staying in typical hotel digs, which is either perfect or slightly inconvenient depending on what kind of traveler you are. Don’t expect someone at a front desk 24/7, but the trade-off is having actual space to spread out and maybe cook something if you’re tired of tarte flambée (though honestly, who gets tired of tarte flambée?).
The apartments themselves are… well, they’re exactly what you’d expect from a solid 3-star situation. Nothing fancy, but everything works, and there’s something refreshing about places that don’t try too hard. The kitchenettes are small but functional – perfect for morning coffee or heating up leftovers from that place on Rue des Dentelles you definitely ate too much at. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this part of town, so factor that in if you’re driving. The tram stops are close enough that you’ll hear them occasionally, but it’s more of a gentle city hum than anything disruptive. Actually, I kind of liked it – reminded me I was in the middle of something alive, you know?
What really sold me was the whole neighborhood vibe. You’re surrounded by the kind of narrow streets where locals actually live and work, not just the postcard-perfect stuff (though that’s a five-minute walk too). There’s a boulangerie practically next door that does this incredible pain aux raisins – I’m talking about the kind that’s still warm at 7 AM. The Petite France area is close enough for evening walks, but far enough that you’re not dealing with tour groups under your windows all day. And if you’re here during Christmas market season? Well, you’re basically in the sweet spot – close enough to dive in whenever you want, but with a quiet retreat when the crowds get overwhelming. The 7.6 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers exactly what it promises, and sometimes that’s precisely what you need when you’re trying to actually experience a city instead of just Instagram it.

Reviews
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this well appointed apartment in the heart of Strasbourg! – Ann from Australia – 28 December 2024 (9/10)
The location was excellent (a short walk to everything we wanted to see). The apartment was very clean and comfortable and just a pleasure to be staying there. The beds were comfortable, there was ample room for our needs, the showers were great and we could login to our Netflix account using the provided Wifi to watch TV and films from home. We used the kitchen to cook dinner also, which we enjoyed.
What could be improved: There were no basic ingredients (like salt and pepper) in the kitchen.
And there should be a warning for families with young children, or for the elderly, about the stairs. There’s 67 steps, up winding stairwells, to reach the apartment and this could be a real problem for those who are unfit, unwell or elderly. Especially when carrying travel luggage.
Then inside the apartment, the lack of balustrade at the top of the stairs, near the dining table, could be a hazard for young children.
For us, this was all okay.Cosy and Perfect – Nuno from Portugal – 23 December 2024 (9/10)
Perfect location to see the center of the city.
Perfect for the Christmas market.
Nice and cosy apartment in a silent street, even being near the atractions.
Host let us enter earlier and that helped a lot in our organization.
What could be improved: Some problems contacting the host before arriving. When in there all perfect and easy communication.Superb – Anxhela from Germany – 10 October 2024 (9/10)
Location is great, in the city centre, the price is great, especially if you’re with someone else. We were at ground floor, for a night. Room size is ok for 1-2 night stay. Everything clean. I would go there again!
What could be improved: The only thing at our stay was that we didn’t have natural light, couldn’t open the window.Great location, perfect for 1 person, needs improvement on some essentials items ( hair dryer, iron etc) – Samira from Bolivia – 3 January 2024 (7/10)
Location is perfect. In the middle of main area.
What could be improved: It’s a very small apartment. When you use pull out bed you have no room for luggage.
Missing hair dryer, especially during winter time after shower can’t walk outside with wet hair, missing iron/steamer for clothes. No hand soap, no shower gel, no shampoos. Only one towel per person for entire stay. No face/hand towels.
The owner was very responsive, replying to messages vary quickly- appreciate that.Wonderful location, , small but cosy and inadequate supplies. – Tregenza from Australia – 26 December 2023 (7/10)
The apartment was cosy, and in a quaint building. The location was fantastic.
What could be improved: There was NOTHING for us to use as basic supplies. Example, NO SOAP ! No tea towels, nor basic kitchen supplies that we expected ( & have had in other places ), like salt, oil, paper towels, washing liquid. The shower, was fine, except that the glass door was inadequate and flooded the bathroom. The toilet room was so tiny, our legs practically touched the door. If you are on the larger size, you may struggle. But, location was gorgeous and for two, it would be great.Very good – Zeina from France – 2 July 2025 (8/10)
The flat was very small but still functional and comfortable. The location was amazing .
What could be improved: I was there only for one night . I collected the key at 6 pm and was asked to return it at 9am. Too short of a stay so not a good value for money.Short but precise and perfect place – Claudia from Switzerland – 13 June 2025 (9/10)
Beautiful decoration , perfect location, all very new . TOP place !
What could be improved: All goodGood value for money – Styliana from Cyprus – 24 March 2025 (10/10)
It was very well located in the centre of the city. Very clean and very comfortable to stay.
Lovely apartment, very central and cosy vibe.would definitely stag again – Prina from United Kingdom – 12 February 2025 (10/10)
Everything was great! There are lots of stairs which wasn’t a problem for us.
What could be improved: Nothing! We encountered an issue with the electrics, contacted host and everything was sorted quickly.Exceptional – Samar from Lebanon – 23 December 2024 (10/10)
