Hotel Description

Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Le Strasbourgeois when I first booked it – the name makes it sound like some fancy hotel, but it’s actually this really well-designed apartment that feels more like staying at a stylish friend’s place than a typical rental. The location on rue de la première armée is pretty brilliant, actually. You’re tucked into this quiet residential street (no tour groups stomping around at 6 AM, thank god), but you can literally walk to the cathedral in about twelve minutes. I timed it because, well, you know how these “walking distance” claims go. The building itself has that classic Alsatian charm – you know, those beautiful sandstone facades that Strasbourg does so well – but inside it’s been completely modernized without losing character.

The 60 square meters might not sound huge, but whoever designed this space really knew what they were doing. The kitchen actually has decent counter space and a proper coffee machine (not one of those pod things that make sad espresso), which honestly made my mornings so much better. I mean, finding good coffee gear in rentals is like winning the lottery sometimes. The living area flows nicely into the dining space, and there’s this really comfortable couch where I ended up spending way too much time planning day trips to the Vosges mountains. What really impressed me was the attention to detail – good lighting throughout (not those harsh overhead bulbs that make everything look like a hospital), quality linens that actually felt nice, and enough storage that six people wouldn’t be living out of suitcases. The bathroom’s compact but well-designed, with one of those rainfall showerheads that makes you not want to leave.

Location-wise, you’re perfectly positioned to explore both the tourist bits and the real Strasbourg. The Krutenau district is just a short walk south if you want to see where locals actually hang out, and you can easily walk to Petite France without dealing with tram schedules – though honestly, the tram system here is fantastic and the nearest stop is maybe three minutes away. Parking can be a bit tricky in this area (it’s mostly resident permits during the day), but there’s a public garage about five minutes away if you’re driving. The 8.6 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything just works really well. The check-in was smooth, the space is genuinely comfortable for up to six people without feeling cramped, and you get that authentic Strasbourg neighborhood feel while still being close enough to stumble back from the winstubs after too much Riesling. It’s the kind of place you’d actually recommend to friends without worrying they’ll hate you for it.

The concierge service in Strasbourg can arrange exclusive tours of Strasbourg Cathedral, secure reservations at traditional winstubs, and organize personalized visits to the European Parliament and UNESCO World Heritage Grande Île.

Reviews

  • Very clean and comfortable. – Donald from United Kingdom – 4 May 2025 (9/10)

Very clean and well appointed. Good location.

What could be improved: An elaborate key collection and drop-off process involving a code operated key safe in a separate location about ten minutes walk from the apartment. Also surprised that we had to take our rubbish and recycling to another building at the end.

  • Strasbourg – Karli from Australia – 28 April 2025 (10/10)

Fantastic family apartment with everything you could possible want.
They really did cater for every need.
Comfortable beds, great appliances and kitchen accessories.
The location was very central and not far from the train station. Check in and check out was seemless.
We loved our stay… Thank you very much 👍🇨🇵

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Strasbourg was a wonderful city; the apartment was ideally located; there were restaurants within a short walking dista – Fabian from United States – 22 September 2024 (10/10)

    Location
It had everything that we needed.

What could be improved: Initially the weather was cold and there was no heat . The property owner obtained some portable heaters by the next day which made the apartment much more comfortable.

  • Amazing Location, wonderfully decorated. Great for a family. – Daniella from Germany – 10 July 2024 (10/10)

    Amazing Location and wonderfully decorated.

What could be improved: No Ar-conditioning

  • A really nice apartment in a great location within easy walking distance of the old town. – Philip from Norway – 7 July 2024 (9/10)

A really nice apartment in a great location within easy walking distance of the old town. The bedrooms were comfortable and the facilities were great.

What could be improved: A full length mirror would be a useful addition to the apartment.

  • Brilliant location, explored Strasbourg by foot every day. Great public transport. Responsive hosts. – Davy from Australia – 28 December 2024 (9/10)

Brilliant location, very well supplied, good quality kitchen and bathroom, spacious living area. Responsive assistance from host greatly appreciated.
    Loved our stay.

What could be improved: Table not big enough to seat 6 comfortably, not enough seating in lounge area for 6, or even 4 people. For a week stay need more tea towels. ;o)
If you are staying in summer and have the windows open, you will get some noise from the street.

  • Overall, very happy great location. – Caroline from Ireland – 6 December 2024 (8/10)

What could be improved: It would be great if you could add an extra mirror or two in the apartment, it was hard with just one mirror and one bathroom, when people wanted to get ready to go out.

  • Overall pretty good stay at a reasonable price. – William from United Kingdom – 4 July 2024 (8/10)

    Light, well equipped, beds comfy

What could be improved: key pick up a fair walk and had to drop off too; not very convenient when with luggage.

  • Comfortable apartment but needs matters raised fixed – Beverly from Australia – 3 June 2025 (4/10)

Lots of space. The apartment had a nice feel about it. Close to supermarkets.

What could be improved: The lift didn’t work. Lucky we were on the first floor. The mat wasn’t clean. The freezer of the refrigerator badly needs defrosting. One side of the bed was against the wall.

  • Good – Murat from Turkey – 2 August 2024 (7/10)

İt was a nice place but it had too many little flaws that i dont think i would stay there again.

What could be improved: Especially the checkin and checkout process was the biggest problem. Their weird checkout method almost made me lose my transfer to Germany. Moreover, the Door of the apartment was not possible to lock from inside; And the lock was so weak- that made us feel insecure in the apartment.
