Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Le Sarsour Appartement? The location is actually brilliant in a way that most hotel booking sites completely fail to explain. Sure, 9 Rue des Balayeurs sounds like some random side street – and honestly, it sort of is – but here’s the thing: you’re literally a three-minute walk from Place Kléber, which means you can stumble back from dinner in Petite France without dealing with trams or taxis, but you’re tucked away enough that you won’t hear drunk tourists singing at 2 AM. I mean, the street itself is pretty quiet, lined with those typical Alsatian buildings with the timber framing, though this particular building is more understated than Instagram-worthy.
The apartment setup works really well if you’re staying more than a couple nights. It’s not fancy – we’re talking 3-star territory here – but everything actually functions properly, which honestly isn’t always a given in European city centers. The kitchen has enough space to make coffee and heat up pastries from the boulangerie around the corner (there’s a good one on Rue du Vieux-Marché-aux-Poissons that opens early). What I really appreciated was having actual counter space and a proper-sized fridge, plus the Wi-Fi was solid throughout the unit. The bathroom’s compact but well-designed – you won’t be bumping your elbows everywhere like in some Paris apartments I could mention.
Here’s what the booking photos don’t really show you: the windows face an interior courtyard, so it’s genuinely quiet for sleeping, but that also means limited natural light during the day. Not a dealbreaker, just something to know going in. Check-in was smooth – they send you codes ahead of time, so no awkward lobby waiting around. Parking is… well, it’s Strasbourg city center, so forget about street parking, but there’s a public garage about five minutes away if you’re driving. Most people just take the tram from the station though. The building entrance is easy to miss if you’re not paying attention – look for the small sign next to the green door. That 8.6 rating makes sense to me; it’s the kind of place that does what it promises without any unpleasant surprises, and in a location where you can walk to the cathedral, hop on a Rhine boat tour, or grab dinner in the Krutenau district without planning your whole day around transportation. It’s not going to wow you, but it’ll give you a proper base for exploring Strasbourg without the tourist hotel markup.
Early hotels booking in Strasbourg is essential during major events like the Christmas Market, as accommodations fill up quickly with visitors eager to experience the city’s renowned festive atmosphere and Gothic architecture.

Great for a short stay – Hannahan from Hungary – 10 April 2025 (10/10)
Helpful stuff,
well-equipped kitchen,
great coffee.
What could be improved: Cold flooring and almost black towels.
Lack of toiletries and a bedside lamp.Exceptional – Danjela from Albania – 23 March 2025 (10/10)

What could be improved: Uncomfortable bed.Small apartment in a good location – Dr from Germany – 27 February 2025 (5/10)
Good Location
What could be improved: No warm water when we arrived in the evening. In the morning this was no problem but it seems like the house had used up all the hot water during the day and the apartment does not have an independent hot water supply.Petit appartement bien situé. – Grégory from France – 25 July 2025 (8/10)
À recommander sans réserve – Nadir from France – 30 June 2025 (10/10)
Superb – Ilse from Germany – 9 June 2025 (9/10)
Very good – Tsvetelina from Bulgaria – 16 May 2025 (8/10)
What could be improved: Séjour en famille pour visiter Strasbourg. – Sylvain from France – 3 May 2025 (9/10)
Emplacement super. Au calme et proche tram.
