The thing about this hotel is that it feels authentically Strasbourg without being kitschy about it. The building has that understated Alsatian charm (none of that over-the-top half-timbered tourist trap stuff), and when I walked in, there was this subtle scent of fresh bread drifting from somewhere nearby – probably the boulangerie around the corner that locals queue up at every morning around 7:30.
