Hotel Description
You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Le Joli Adèle on Rue Adèle Riton – honestly, the name made it sound almost too cute to be taken seriously. But this little gem actually surprised me in the best way. The location is honestly perfect if you’re doing the Strasbourg thing properly. You’re maybe a seven-minute walk from the main train station (Gare Centrale), which I mean, if you’re hauling luggage and tired from travel, that’s just about right – close enough to be convenient but far enough that you’re not hearing train announcements at 6 AM. The street itself is pretty quiet, tucked into this residential pocket that feels authentically Strasbourgeois rather than touristy. There’s something really satisfying about staying where actual locals live, you know?
What really got me was the terrace situation – and I’m usually skeptical about hotel outdoor spaces because they’re often afterthoughts. But this one actually works. It’s not huge or fancy, but it catches the morning sun perfectly, and there’s something lovely about having your coffee out there while the neighborhood slowly wakes up. You can hear the trams in the distance (the nearest stop is literally two blocks away on Avenue de la Forêt Noire), but it’s more atmospheric than annoying. The parking thing is honestly a game-changer if you’re driving – and let’s be real, parking in Strasbourg’s center can be a nightmare. Having a guaranteed spot meant I could actually relax and explore without constantly checking parking apps. The rooms themselves have this understated elegance that feels very French but not stuffy. Everything’s been recently updated (you can tell by the bathroom fixtures and the way the WiFi actually works everywhere), but they kept some original details like the crown molding and these beautiful tall windows that flood everything with light.
Here’s what I really appreciated – the staff actually knows the neighborhood. When I asked about dinner recommendations, they didn’t just hand me a tourist brochure; they sent me to this bistro three streets over that I never would have found otherwise. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying in someone’s well-appointed home rather than a generic hotel room. The 4-star rating feels spot-on – it’s polished and comfortable without being pretentious. And honestly, with a 9 rating from other guests, I expected it to be overpriced or overhyped, but the value is actually solid. You’re getting quality without the markup that comes with being right in the tourist center, plus you’re positioned perfectly to walk to Grande Île (maybe 15 minutes through some really lovely streets) or catch public transport anywhere else you want to go. If you’re the type who likes to feel settled somewhere rather than just passing through, this place gets it right.

Accueil personnel et chaleureux par Géraldine, la propriétaire. Petit appartement douillet, très bien agencé, propre et confortable. Nous y avons passé un très agréable séjour. Petit plus non négligeable, un parking souterrain dans l‘immeuble.
