Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Le jardin de l’hyser? The name had me expecting some grand garden courtyard situation, but honestly, it’s more about the quiet residential vibe on Rue de l’Yser than any spectacular landscaping. That said, there’s something genuinely charming about this little 3-star spot that grows on you – especially if you’re the type who’d rather skip the tourist circus around the cathedral and actually experience Strasbourg like someone who lives here.
The location is actually pretty clever once you get your bearings. Sure, you’re not stumbling out the front door onto Grand Île, but you’re close enough to walk everywhere that matters (maybe 15 minutes to Petite France on foot), and honestly, staying on this quieter street means you’ll actually sleep at night. I mean, the area around Place Kléber can get pretty rowdy, especially during the Christmas markets madness. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 3-star – nothing Instagram-worthy, but clean and functional with that slightly dated European hotel charm. The beds are decent enough, though the pillows could use some help. What I really appreciated was how the staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood – they pointed me toward this fantastic little bakery on Rue de la Krutenau that I never would’ve found otherwise, and gave me the real scoop on which trams to avoid during rush hour.
The 7.2 rating feels about right, to be honest. It’s not going to blow your mind, but it does what it promises without any major disappointments. Parking can be a bit of a dance around here (like most of Strasbourg), but there’s street parking if you’re patient, and they can point you toward a garage that’s not too far. The breakfast is pretty standard continental fare – nothing special, but the coffee’s actually decent and they had proper local jams. I stayed here during shoulder season in October, and it felt like a good value then, though I imagine prices jump during Christmas market season when every bed in the city becomes gold. If you’re looking for that authentic Strasbourg experience without paying cathedral-view prices, and you don’t mind a short walk to the main action, this place delivers exactly what it advertises – no more, no less.

House was not bad.
What could be improved: We could not reach the landlord to learn the apartment number and we waited almost three hours under the rain to locate the actual place because,
1-He did not return our calls or messages despite all our efforts,
2-The adress did not have an apartment number so it was technically not possible to find the exact location.
3-The sofa bed was not even opened and we did not know how to open it.Even if we did noone told us where the linens are.
4-There was a single thin toilet paper and it tan out quickly. We did not know where they are kept so purchased one ourselvesBad – Mohammad from Lebanon – 27 May 2025 (1/10)
