Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Le Cocon? The name actually makes perfect sense once you’re inside – it really does feel like a cozy little cocoon perched up on the sixth floor of this classic Strasbourg building. I mean, the elevator ride up gives you a moment to wonder what you’ve gotten yourself into, but then you step out and boom – that panoramic view hits you. From Quai Kléber, you’re basically getting a front-row seat to the Ill River and honestly, some of the best rooftop perspectives of the old town I’ve seen without paying tourist prices.
The apartment itself is sort of wonderfully unpretentious. It’s not trying to be some fancy boutique experience, but everything you actually need is there and works well. The WiFi is solid (I was working remotely for a few days and had zero issues), and they’ve got Netflix already set up, which – let’s be real – is clutch after a long day wandering around Petite France. The space feels lived-in rather than sterile, if that makes sense. There are those little touches that show someone actually thought about what travelers want: good lighting for reading, enough outlets near the bed, a kitchen that’s small but functional if you grab groceries from the Monoprix down the street. The neighborhood is pretty perfect, actually – you’re right in the thick of things without being on some crazy touristy strip. I could walk to the cathedral in about eight minutes, and there’s this little boulangerie two blocks over (Boulangerie Julien) that locals line up at every morning.
Now, I’ll be straight with you – it’s a 3-star place with a 7.8 rating, so don’t expect perfection. The building is old, which means you’ll hear your upstairs neighbors sometimes, and the bathroom is compact in that very European way. But honestly? None of that bothered me much because the location and that view just make up for it. Plus, parking in central Strasbourg is basically a nightmare anyway, so being able to walk everywhere from here was actually a relief. I ended up spending way more time just hanging out by the windows with coffee in the mornings than I planned – watching the river traffic and early commuters crossing the bridges. It’s one of those places where you feel like you’re staying in the real Strasbourg, not some sanitized hotel version of it. If you want something authentic and well-positioned without breaking the bank, and you don’t mind a bit of character (quirks included), Le Cocon delivers exactly what it promises.
The concierge service in Strasbourg can arrange exclusive tours of Strasbourg Cathedral, secure reservations at traditional winstubs, and organize personalized visits to the European Parliament and UNESCO World Heritage Grande Île.

Reviews
Very nice, cosy studio, conveniently situated in the centre of town – Tiago from Portugal – 27 May 2025 (9/10)
The check-in system is very accessible and the contact with the accommodation responsible was also very easy, helpful and available. It's a very nice, cosy flat and it's very recommendable to stay here, also for being so central and well-furnished.
What could be improved: We had a small issue with the bed-sheets, but it was very nicely resolved. The rest of the studio was very clean.Very good, I will come back! – Maria from France – 30 March 2025 (9/10)
Very well equipped, very clean, nice location

What could be improved: Nothingif you follow the guideline which is provided by host, entrance and finding flat will be much easier – Havva from Turkey – 13 March 2023 (9/10)
location is great.
What could be improved: nothingVery good – Gloriana from Costa Rica – 21 December 2022 (8/10)
Overall was great, the location is pretty good, it was clean, it was a quiet place and it was good for 3, but one more would be very crowded.
What could be improved: It was really hard to find the place, so it is important to open and read all the information sent by the host previously, because I waited until I got there and once you open the document you have to wait until the host gives permission. I got help from a security guy from the mall but I asked a few people before and they didn´t know the location of this place. Once this security guy helped us and the host answered it was solved.place was really good and decent price, if wifi isn’t a problem for anyone I’d definitely recommend 🙂 – Mitchell from Australia – 26 September 2022 (7/10)
good location, good price, apartment was really clean and had a washing machine. nice view
What could be improved: wifi didn’t work and couldn’t fix it.
had information about Strasbourg in the apartment but it was mostly all in French….. considering it’s so close to the boarder, a German translation wasn’t even considered.
the bed is off the ground but was squeaking, didn’t feel stable (is a good use of space but frame could be better)Good – Lapachi from Georgia – 3 January 2025 (7/10)
location
What could be improved: The apartment was very small, not sufficiently clean, and the carpet was dirty—better if it wasn’t there at all.
