La Madeleine de Proust – joli 3 pièces avec parkings Overview

First Impressions

When I first pulled up to La Madeleine de Proust – joli 3 pièces avec parkings, I’ll admit the name had me curious — and honestly, it delivers on that literary promise. This four-star apartment-style hotel sits on Route Marcel Proust in a quieter part of Strasbourg, about 15 minutes from the cathedral area. What immediately caught my attention was how easy parking was — you know how stressful that can be in European cities — but here there’s actually free private parking right on site. The building has this understated elegance that feels more like staying in a well-appointed Strasbourg home than a typical hotel.

The Space and Style

The “3 pièces” part of the name refers to the three-room layout, and it’s genuinely spacious for a city stay. I mean, you get a proper living area, separate bedroom, and a kitchen that’s actually functional — not just a mini-fridge and kettle situation. The décor has this refined French sensibility without being stuffy, with touches that nod to Proust’s literary legacy (subtle, not over-the-top). The apartment feels like it belongs to someone with good taste who travels often — everything you need is there, from quality linens to proper lighting for reading. There’s something refreshing about having room to spread out after days of sightseeing.

Location and Getting Around

Here’s what I really appreciated about the location — it’s in a residential neighborhood that feels authentically Strasbourg, not touristy at all. You’re close enough to walk or take a quick tram ride to the Petite France district and the cathedral, but far enough away that you escape the crowds when you want to relax. The area has a few local cafés and a small market nearby, which is perfect if you want to grab fresh bread or wine to enjoy in your apartment. Couples seem to particularly love this setup (the hotel has great ratings from romantic travelers), and I can see why — there’s something intimate about having your own little Strasbourg pied-à-terre.

Practical Comforts

What sets this place apart is how well thought-out everything is for actual living, not just sleeping. The kitchen has proper cookware if you want to prepare a simple meal with ingredients from the local market — something you definitely can’t do in most hotels. The Wi-Fi is reliable, there’s good storage space for longer stays, and the bathroom feels more like home than a hotel room. Small details matter here, like having a proper coffee setup and enough electrical outlets where you actually need them. It’s clear someone who understands travel put thought into the layout.

Why Guests Love It

Honestly, this feels like the kind of place you’d book for a second or third visit to Strasbourg — when you want to experience the city more like a local than a tourist. The combination of space, parking, and that residential neighborhood vibe creates something special for couples or anyone wanting a more authentic stay. Recent guests consistently praise the location (rating it 8.1), and after staying here, I understand why. It’s not about flashy amenities — it’s about having a comfortable, well-designed base that lets you experience Strasbourg at your own pace, with the freedom to come and go as you please.

  • Exceptional – Piotr from Poland – 11 July 2025 (10/10)

  • Very good – Amela from Germany – 28 June 2025 (8/10)

  • Excellent Apartment and Quiet Location – Steve from France – 30 May 2025 (10/10)

This was a beautiful apartment and had all we needed and more. In a quiet neighbourhood and close to stores and, best of all, a local boulangerie. We had a bit of difficulty finding the place as is was dark when we arrived. A larger address number on the building might help but this may be beyond the owner's power.
We would suggest letting renters know the tram is close and easy to take in the center of the city and saved us from have to drive in a city we are not familiar with and pay for parking.
Over all, stay here…you'll like the place and the amenities. We were very happy and comfortable there.

  • Very good – Barbara from Italy – 5 May 2025 (8/10)

  • Very good – Elianne from Netherlands – 4 May 2025 (8/10)

What could be improved: Het doucheputje was niet schoongemaakt.
