Strasbourg, JULES VERNE Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Strasbourg, JULES VERNE on Rue Jules Verne, you immediately get the sense this isn’t your typical chain hotel. The building has that solid European feel — nothing flashy, but there’s something reassuring about its understated presence in this quiet residential area. Honestly, I was a bit skeptical at first since it’s tucked away from the main tourist drag, but that actually turned out to be one of its biggest strengths.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re in Strasbourg proper, but away from the crowds that swarm around the cathedral area. The four-star property sits in a neighborhood where actual locals live, which means you’ll find genuine boulangeries and cafés within walking distance. The free parking on site is honestly a godsend if you’re driving — anyone who’s tried to park near Strasbourg’s city center knows what a nightmare that can be. You can easily walk to the tram stops, and from there it’s maybe 15 minutes to reach Petite France or the historic center.

The Room Experience

My room was exactly what you’d expect from a solid four-star place — clean, well-appointed, and thoughtfully designed without being over the top. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and there’s enough space to actually unpack your suitcase without feeling cramped. What struck me most was the attention to small details — good lighting for reading, decent Wi-Fi that actually works, and windows that open properly for fresh air. The bathrooms are modern and functional, though nothing particularly Instagram-worthy.

Dining & Amenities

The hotel’s restaurant serves solid French fare — I mean, you’re in Alsace, so they know their way around both French and German influences on the menu. Breakfast was better than I expected, with local pastries and decent coffee that didn’t taste like it came from a machine. The staff here actually seems to care about what they’re doing, which you notice in little things like remembering your name or suggesting good local spots for dinner when their kitchen is closed.

Why Guests Love It

You know what really sets this place apart? It’s that sweet spot between being professional and feeling personal. Couples seem to particularly appreciate the quieter location — you can actually have a conversation on the street without competing with tour groups. The 8.9 rating makes sense when you experience the consistent quality across everything from housekeeping to front desk service. It’s not trying to be the fanciest hotel in Strasbourg, but it delivers exactly what it promises, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need after a long day of sightseeing. This apartment-style accommodation offers the perfect balance of comfort and authenticity.

  • Would book again – Sebastian from Germany – 23 April 2024 (10/10)

The contact person was easy going and allowed us to leave our baggage earlier than the check-in time.

What could be improved: The sofa-bed and the tall chairs for the dinning table were not very comfortable.

  • It was an awesome time here – Alona from Germany – 11 April 2024 (10/10)

It’s just a perfect place, clean, clear, has a balcony and liters everything you might need in a travel: washing machine, drying rack, toaster and much more, very thoughtfully chosen high quality soap. They thought about every little detail. The area is quiet and beautiful, has a few nice bakeries nearby 😋

  • Excellent! – Guerrero from Germany – 20 February 2024 (10/10)

The place was excellent, clean and comfortable, he left tea, coffee and you have everything you need for a great time in Strasbourg! The host met us at the door and allowed us to do our check-in earlier. Totally recommend this apartment!

  • Comfortable stay at this nice and cozy apartment in Strasbourg – Hannah from United States – 30 December 2023 (10/10)

The apartment was very nice and cozy. Was very clean and we had a comfortable stay. We felt a bit cold and they told us how to increase the heater temperature and it was ok after that. But they also offered to drop off a portable heater but we didn’t need it. The Framboisier bakery nearby was a nice place for a sit In breakfast and the lady who runs the place was extremely kind and welcoming. There is also another pastry place just by the apartment. The bus stop by the apartment was also very convenient.
