It sits right on avenue de Colmar, which honestly isn’t the most glamorous street in Strasbourg, but that’s actually part of what makes this place work. You’re about a 15-minute tram ride from the stunning cathedral and Petite France (the T6 line stops practically at your doorstep), but you’re not paying those insane city center prices.

The location is genuinely practical if you think about it – I mean, you’ve got the stadium right there if you’re into football, and the Neuhof district has this authentic, lived-in feel that tourist areas lack. The rooms are what you’d expect from ibis Styles: clean, modern, with those quirky design touches they love to throw in. Nothing fancy, but the beds are surprisingly comfortable and the soundproofing is decent enough that you won’t hear every car passing by on Colmar avenue. The breakfast spread is solid – fresh croissants, good coffee, and they actually know how to scramble eggs properly, which you’d be amazed how many hotels mess up.

What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to actually know Strasbourg beyond the obvious tourist spots. When I mentioned wanting to find a good local brasserie, the front desk guy recommended this place called Au Brasseur that locals frequent – not some overpriced trap near the cathedral. The whole experience felt refreshingly straightforward. Check-in was quick, the Wi-Fi actually worked throughout the building, and there’s free parking which is honestly worth its weight in gold in Strasbourg. Sure, you’re not going to Instagram your way to travel blogger fame from this location, but if you want a clean, comfortable base for exploring Alsace without breaking the bank, this place delivers exactly what it promises. Plus, being slightly outside the historic center means you get a glimpse of how regular Strasbourgeois actually live – which, honestly, made my trip feel more authentic than staying in some boutique hotel where every other guest is clutching a guidebook.
