The ornate wooden facade with its intricate carvings is honestly something you’d expect to see in a fairy tale, not your actual hotel for the night.

The location is just ridiculous — and I mean that in the best possible way. You step outside and boom, there’s the magnificent Strasbourg Cathedral towering right in front of you. Couples absolutely love this spot (they rate it 9.6 out of 10, which honestly makes perfect sense), and after staying here, I totally get why. You’re in the absolute heart of the old town, surrounded by cobblestone streets and medieval charm. Everything you want to see in Strasbourg is basically within a five-minute walk — the Petite France district, the covered bridges, all those amazing Alsatian restaurants.

The Room Experience

Now, this is a three-star property, so don’t expect massive suites or ultra-modern amenities. What you get instead is character — lots of it. The room I stayed in had exposed wooden beams and traditional Alsatian touches that made me feel like I was sleeping in a museum (but in a good way). The furnishings are comfortable enough, though the building’s age means some quirks — slightly slanted floors, smaller bathrooms than you might expect. But honestly, when you’re staying in a 500-year-old building in this location, you’re not really here for the thread count.

Dining and Breakfast

The restaurant downstairs is actually pretty special — it’s been serving traditional Alsatian cuisine for decades, and the atmosphere is incredibly authentic with all that dark wood and period decor. Breakfast is continental style, nothing fancy but perfectly adequate with fresh pastries and good coffee. What I really appreciated was being able to grab breakfast and then immediately step outside to explore — no need to trek across town to start your sightseeing.

Look, you’re not staying here for cutting-edge amenities or spa treatments. You’re staying here because you want to sleep inside a piece of Strasbourg’s history while being steps away from everything that matters. The building itself is an attraction — tourists literally stop to take photos of your hotel all day long. And that location score of 9.6? Completely deserved. I’ve stayed in fancier places in Strasbourg, but none that made me feel so connected to the city’s medieval soul. If you want Instagram-worthy views and authentic Alsatian atmosphere over modern comforts, this place delivers exactly what it promises.
