Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to the Ibis Styles on Rue Du Maire Kuss, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star chain hotel. But you know what? This place actually gets it right in ways that matter. The building itself has this clean, contemporary vibe that doesn’t try too hard, and the lobby smells like that subtle lavender scent they pump in (not overpowering, thankfully).

What really sold me was the location – and I mean the real location, not just “near the station” nonsense you read everywhere. You’re literally a 3-minute walk from Gare Centrale, which sounds obvious from the name, but here’s what the booking sites don’t tell you: you can wheel your suitcase there on actual sidewalks, not cobblestones that’ll rattle your teeth out. Plus, you’re right on the edge where the business district meets the old town, so you get the best of both worlds. I could grab coffee at that little bakery on the corner (they do amazing pain au chocolat, by the way) and still be wandering through Petite France within 15 minutes on foot. The tram stops right there too – honestly, the transportation connections are almost too convenient.

The rooms themselves are what you’d expect from Ibis Styles – nothing fancy, but thoughtfully designed. Mine faced the street, and yeah, there’s some traffic noise in the morning, but it’s not the kind that keeps you up at night. The bed was actually comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the shower had proper water pressure, which… well, if you’ve stayed in enough European hotels, you know that’s not always a given. What I really appreciated were the little touches – decent lighting for reading, enough outlets near the bed, and a workspace that’s actually usable if you need to get some work done. The breakfast spread was solid too, nothing Instagram-worthy but proper coffee and fresh pastries that’ll fuel you for a day of wandering around Strasbourg’s Christmas markets or cathedral-hopping. The staff spoke excellent English and seemed genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions. For the price point, especially during peak season when everything else in the city center gets ridiculous, this place delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises.

Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Strasbourg through local agencies that offer personalized recommendations and insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for exploring the city’s rich Franco-German heritage.

Convenient location to the train station and local attractions. Great breakfast.
Room was kept clean. There is a common lounge by the reception to rest and unwind or wait for transport – with popcorns, titbits, coffee to go!

  • Nice hotel near the Trainstation – Ivana from Croatia – 15 June 2025 (9/10)

  • Would definitely stay again – Marjolijn from Netherlands – 18 May 2025 (9/10)

Staff was very friendly, breakfast was nice, fantastic shower, comfortable bed, location super when you travel by train.

What could be improved: The curtains in the bedroom block the light, but there was a glass door to the bathroom, so the sunlight still came in the room through there.

  • Enjoyed my stay. Staff was accommodating – Sheryl from United Arab Emirates – 29 April 2025 (9/10)

  • Pleasant stay and worth the money. – Vagisha from India – 22 December 2024 (9/10)

The property is located just facing the main station and close to the tram station as well. Nearby one has easy access to supermarkets, cafés and city centre is also-15 to 29 minutes by walking . The breakfast is splendid even for vegetarians . The staff is super sweet and helpful. The facilities such as heating , air conditioning everything is provided . In request we got one more blanket as we needed. Overall worth the money for our Christmas markets trip . Also in lounge there were free coffee , popcorn , fruits , chocolates available! With foosball table and a vending machine too!

What could be improved: The room we booked was pretty small. We could just open one luggage at a time. But it was comfortable.
