Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be straight with you about the ibis Strasbourg Centre Historique – it’s one of those places that grows on you once you figure out what it’s actually good for. The location on rue de Molsheim is honestly pretty brilliant if you know Strasbourg at all. You’re basically a five-minute walk from the cathedral (and trust me, you’ll hear those bells), but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the worst of the tourist crowds stumbling around at midnight.
The thing about this ibis is that it feels more integrated into the neighborhood than most chain hotels manage to pull off. I mean, you’ve got actual Strasbourgeois grabbing coffee at the little café next door in the morning, not just bleary-eyed tourists. The building itself has that slightly worn-in feeling that I actually prefer – it’s not trying to be boutique-y or overly polished, just clean and functional in that reliable French way. The rooms are exactly what you’d expect from a 3-star ibis, which sounds boring but honestly, sometimes you just want a decent bed, a shower that works, and windows that actually open (so many hotels have forgotten about that last one). The Wi-Fi’s solid, by the way – I worked from there for a couple days without wanting to throw my laptop out the window.
What really sells this place for me is how it sits in the city. You can walk to Petite France in about fifteen minutes, but you’re also right there for hopping on the tram if you want to venture out to the European Quarter or across to Kehl in Germany. The Galeries Lafayette is practically around the corner if you need to grab anything, and there’s this excellent little Alsatian restaurant called Au Pont Corbeau just down the street that most tourists never find. Parking’s a bit of a nightmare in this part of town – I’d honestly recommend just leaving your car at the hotel’s garage and walking everywhere, because the historic center streets weren’t exactly designed with rental cars in mind. The staff seems to get that most guests are here to explore, so they’re pretty good with recommendations that go beyond the obvious tourist stuff. One guy at reception told me about this amazing tarte flambée place that was absolutely worth the detour. The 7.2 rating seems about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it does what it promises without any unpleasant surprises, and in a city where accommodation can be hit-or-miss depending on the season, that’s actually worth something.
Hotels in Strasbourg offer guests the perfect blend of French elegance and Alsatian charm, with many featuring regional wine concierge services and traditional half-timbered architecture to enhance the authentic Franco-German cultural experience.

Reviews
Typical functional Ibis Hotel. – Paul from United Kingdom – 29 June 2025 (8/10)
Small but well designed, functional rooms. Good air con which was welcomed in 34 degree heat, small but good shower with nice toiletries. WiFi good but only free for 24 hours.
What could be improved: I know it’s France but it’s a Tourist hotel yet every sign was in French, no English anywhere.Room with a View – Alan from Germany – 25 May 2025 (8/10)
Great hotel. Our room overlooked the river. Although small, it was comfortable. The hotel is just minutes away from Petite France. Great breakfast.
Great locale as a base of operations for visiting Strasbourg – Michael from United Kingdom – 13 May 2025 (8/10)
A short little walking distance to Petit France & only 10–15min to the train station.

What could be improved: No slippers in the room.

What could be improved: Had nothing I could faultIt was ok!! – Beverly from Germany – 19 August 2024 (7/10)
For a short stay it was ok. Perfect location to both old town and to the central station just a walking distance. Our bathroom was small but we dont have any issue about the space since we were small asian ladies. We were satisfied in our stayed and i will book again if ever i come back again in Strasbourg.
What could be improved: There was a stain and dust in the open wardrobe as well as on the floor as if the room wasnt cleaned properly.Very good – Mark from United Kingdom – 7 August 2024 (8/10)
It’s an IBIS- you know what you’re getting.
Ok for a stopover & to visit the centre. – Gary from United Kingdom – 5 August 2024 (6/10)
Well located for the historic centre.
What could be improved: The twin rooms were small. The shower room was too small to dry in. The hotel parking is very limited. However there is a secure public car park opposite that was cost effective.
