Hotel Description

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to the REGENT PETITE FRANCE – I mean, you see a lot of hotels claiming to be special in touristy areas like this. But stepping into this place on rue des Moulins actually made me stop and look around. The building itself has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream “look at me” like some five-star places do, which I appreciated right away.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to capture that Strasbourg charm without feeling like a theme park version of it. You know what I mean? The spa here is genuinely impressive – not just a few treatment rooms slapped together as an afterthought. I spent a good chunk of my afternoon there, and honestly, it felt like the kind of place locals would actually use, not just tourists checking boxes. The staff seemed to really know their stuff too, which matters when you’re paying these prices. The rooms have this perfect mix of traditional Alsatian touches and modern comfort that doesn’t feel forced or overdone. My window looked out toward the historic center, and early mornings were surprisingly quiet considering you’re right in the heart of everything.

Here’s the thing about the location – rue des Moulins puts you literally a two-minute walk from Petite France’s canals and those postcard-perfect half-timbered houses, but you’re also close enough to the main shopping streets that you don’t need to plan your whole day around getting anywhere. I found myself ducking back to the hotel between exploring sessions, which isn’t something I usually do. The check-in was smooth (they actually seemed prepared for my arrival, imagine that), and parking… well, it’s Strasbourg, so street parking is what it is, but they helped sort that out without making it feel like my problem. The breakfast was solid – proper local pastries alongside the usual international spread, though I’ll be honest, I ended up wandering to the Saturday market on Place du Marché aux Poissons most mornings because, well, when in Strasbourg, right? One small thing – the elevators are a bit slow if you’re on the higher floors, but that’s honestly nitpicking at this point. With an 8.9 rating, this place clearly knows what it’s doing, and after staying here, I get why people keep coming back. It’s the kind of hotel that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special in a city full of tourist traps.

Reviews

  • Brilliant place. Would love to stay again if we are in the location. – Paul from United States – 23 July 2025 (10/10)

We stayed here toward the end of our France and Switzerland tour, so had relatively low expectations, but the hotel was excellent in almost every aspect. Room size was great. We may have had two of the best locations in the building, overlooking the water. Modern renovations, great shower, nice size cupboards. Very helpful staff. I personally lucked out because one of the pillows they had was seriously good and possibly my new go to, if i can get a couple delivered to the US. Breakfast was excellent, on a gorgeous terrace location. Location is perfect for walking to all the shops and restaurants. We did not get to taste the main restaurant experience, a little pricey for our budget at the end of the vacation and with 3 small children.

What could be improved: The only suggestion I can come up with is that the toilet door could have a lock of some kind. My granddaughter is a 'visitor' to us and it was a little nerve wracking trying to keep her out whilst mother nature called. Not a biggie.
For other travelers – be attentive to the message the hotel send to get you access through the pedestrian streets if you have a car. It is a little tough to get to initially.

Everything. It felt like 5 star ultra luxurious hotel. Staff facility and especially the location was awesome. Close to everywhere and its restaurants cannal view was awesome. Have a bottle of wine in the evening in that restaurant is the must.

    What could be improved: Nothing.

  • Great Stay! – Veronica from United States – 11 July 2025 (10/10)

We had a great experience in this hotel. We traveled with my sister and we both enjoyed the spa! We also felt very safe in the hotel and the neighborhood! (After having a weird situation at the train station)

What could be improved: I booked an appointment in the spa for 30 minutes and I only got 20. After talking I got another 10, but in a different session.

  • Amazing, incredible, and one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in – Chandra from United States – 10 July 2025 (10/10)

What didn't I like? The location was possibly the best location in Strasbourg. I was a bit worried because I was driving, but they gave instructions to my travel companion and she met me and got me to the hotel, where they parked the car. The hotel is located on the water – literally. It is built over a few small rivers. My room was really big and overlooked the water which meant I could sleep with the window open and hear the sound of the water rushing below. The staff was possibly the nicest I've ever met. Couldn't do enough. The bar was lovely and the outside seating was great. The breakfast was fantastic. Strasbourg may be my favorite city in France, and this is in my top 5 favorite hotels I've ever stayed in.

What could be improved: I can't think of anything. The only thing we didn't try was the restaurant, but I'm sure it was great. Getting there was a little complicated? But the staff made it easy so…

  • Charming Stay in the Center of Strasbourg – Veronica from United States – 7 July 2025 (8/10)

Lovely hotel in a great central location. The staff was friendly and helpful. It’s a 10-12 minute walk from the Strasbourg train station. It was flat and doable with luggage and easy to find this hotel. The staff can hold your luggage while you explore. The hotel has a fridge and the room is comfortable.

What could be improved: Late check in. I wish it was 2pm instead of 4pm. We were very tired and wanted to take a nap after waking up early to catch the train to get here. They said our room wasn’t ready to check in early but they were allowing other guests to check in early.

  • Utterly fabulous thanks to Fatya – Louise from United Kingdom – 7 July 2025 (10/10)

Fatya completely made our stay. We have never experienced such genuine warmth and kindness. Our daughter Olive has autism and completely 'imprinted' on Fatya who was utterly delightful with her, letting Olive 'help' her with her work and showing her around the hotel. Every time we returned back to the hotel, Fatya would give Olive a big hug and ask her what she'd been up to and they are now lifelong friends! Our daughter cried all the way home – she was devastated to leave. The staff at this hotel are second to none, it made our entire weekend so memorable and the attention to detail is phenomenal.

What could be improved: The very corporate looking outside of the hotel which is a shame because it is in such a beautiful location and the team who run it are so wonderful.

  • Wonderful hotel in a great location. – Denese from United States – 7 July 2025 (10/10)

The hotel is in a great location in a charming section, right on the canal. Our room overlooked a lock. The outdoor dining area was lovely and next to the water. It was an easy walk to the sights in the old town. The staff was amazing. Breakfast was wonderful.

What could be improved: Everything was great.

  • Nice hotel – Sandra from United States – 2 July 2025 (9/10)

    Location, air conditioner, spa

What could be improved: Need a shower mat so people won’t slip and fall. Also add grab bars.
