Hôtel Graffalgar Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Hôtel Graffalgar on rue Déserte, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from the name of the street — “Déserte” sounds pretty desolate, right? But you know what, it’s actually one of those quiet side streets that locals love because it’s tucked away from the tourist chaos while still being right in the heart of everything. This three-star place has that classic Strasbourg charm without trying too hard, and the moment you step inside, there’s this welcoming warmth that immediately puts you at ease.
Perfect Strasbourg Location
I mean, the location here is honestly incredible — and I’m not just saying that because the rating says so. You’re literally in the best part of Strasbourg, walking distance from the cathedral and all those winding streets in Petite France. What I love about this spot is that you can easily explore on foot, but when you want to retreat from the crowds, rue Déserte feels like your own little secret. Couples especially seem to get this — they’ve rated the location 9.2, and after spending time here, I totally understand why.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d want from a solid three-star in Strasbourg — clean, comfortable, and with those little touches that show someone actually cares about the guest experience. Nothing overly fancy, but everything works well and feels thoughtfully arranged. The windows let in great natural light, and honestly, after a day of wandering around the old town, having a quiet space to decompress was perfect. The beds are properly comfortable too, which matters more than you might think when you’re doing a lot of walking.
Breakfast and Practical Perks
Breakfast here actually impressed me — they’ve got this whole spread that covers pretty much every dietary need you can think of. Continental basics, sure, but also vegetarian, vegan, and halal options, which is refreshing to see. The buffet setup means you can take your time and really fuel up for the day ahead. And here’s something that’ll save you headaches: they have private parking available. Trust me, if you’re driving in Strasbourg, this is worth its weight in gold — finding parking in the old town can be a real nightmare otherwise.
Why Guests Love It
What really strikes me about Hôtel Graffalgar is how it gets the balance right between being centrally located and actually restful. You’re not dealing with street noise all night, but you can still walk to dinner at one of those amazing winstubs in about five minutes. The staff seems to genuinely know the area well — they gave me some great recommendations that I never would have found on my own. It’s the kind of place that works whether you’re here for a romantic weekend or just want a solid base for exploring the city without breaking the bank.

It is near Strasbourg main station. The artworks in the hotel is amazing. The attending staff is so good that he agreed to keep my luggage until the next day since the hotel is fully booked so I need to transfer to another property.
