Look, I’ll be straight with you about the Campanile in Lingolsheim – it’s one of those places that surprises you in small ways. When you first pull up to 305 Route de Schirmeck, you’re thinking “okay, typical airport hotel,” but honestly? There’s something kind of endearing about how unpretentious it is. The Parc des Tanneries area isn’t exactly glamorous – I mean, you’ve got industrial buildings mixed with newer developments – but that actually works in the hotel’s favor because it’s dead quiet at night. No tourist crowds stumbling back from the Petite France bars at 2 AM.

The thing about this Campanile is that it gets the basics really right, which sounds boring but trust me, matters more than fancy lobbies when you’re dealing with early flights. Check-in was smooth (they actually had my reservation ready, imagine that), and the woman at the desk knew exactly which tram stops to use for getting into central Strasbourg – turns out the Krimmeri-Meinau stop is your friend, about a 15-minute walk that’s actually pretty pleasant through the residential streets. The rooms are… well, they’re Campanile rooms, so you know what you’re getting. Clean, functional, decent shower pressure. The beds are surprisingly comfortable though – I slept better than I expected, maybe because you’re far enough from the airport that you don’t get the constant plane noise, just the occasional distant hum.

What I really appreciated was how the staff handled the practical stuff without making a big deal about it. Need a taxi to the airport at 5:30 AM? They’ve got numbers for reliable drivers who actually show up. Want to grab dinner but don’t feel like trekking into Strasbourg? There’s a decent brasserie about ten minutes away on foot, nothing fancy but proper Alsatian portions and local beer. The hotel restaurant does the job too – standard Campanile fare, but the breakfast spread is solid and they keep it stocked even during the early rush. Parking is free, which honestly saves you a fortune compared to staying in the city center where you’re looking at 20 euros a day minimum. The whole setup just works if you’re flying out of Strasbourg-Entzheim or if you want a base that’s connected to the city but not in the thick of it. Sure, it’s not going to wow anyone on Instagram, but sometimes you want a place that just handles the logistics smoothly so you can focus on whatever brought you to Alsace in the first place.

  Room comfortable, great bed, great shower, kettle in room, easy parking, and a very good and helpful receptionist
  
  What could be improved: Breakfast was disappointing. We came for breakfast at about 08.00, not many guests there, but the plates for scrambled egg and for bacon were empty, and did not get filled up while we were there. Also the bread was empty. There was fruit and yoghurt and cheese and ham, but it seemed as if nobody was checking what needed to be replaced.
  Normally Campanile breakfasts are excellent so this was a little disappointing.

  Nice place in the city. Relevant price and services. Breakfast was good. It is fine place. With this price as it is now I am suppose that this is valid maximum of service and all related stuff. Location is a subjective for many person, I am sure that this place is really not so far. Around 10 rather short bus stops from the central bus station – perfect fit if you take bus to another city next day.
