Petite France Apartment Strasbourg Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Petite France Apartment Strasbourg on Place des Meuniers, you immediately understand why this spot gets such rave reviews from couples. I mean, you’re literally standing in the postcard-perfect heart of Strasbourg‘s most romantic district — the half-timbered houses lean in around you like they’re sharing secrets, and the canals are right there. This three-star property doesn’t try to be fancy, but honestly, when you’re in a location this spectacular, you don’t need to.
The Apartment Experience
What struck me most about staying here was how it feels like borrowing a friend’s place rather than checking into a typical hotel. The apartment setup gives you that lived-in comfort — there’s a proper kitchen where you can actually cook (not just heat up instant noodles), and the space feels genuinely homey. You know what I loved? Having coffee in the morning while looking out at the medieval architecture, planning my day without rushing to check out of a hotel room. It’s that kind of flexibility that makes a difference when you’re trying to really experience a place.
Location Magic
Here’s the thing about Petite France — it’s touristy during the day, sure, but early morning and evening? Pure magic. You’re a two-minute walk from the covered bridges, and I actually timed it — seven minutes to reach the cathedral. The narrow cobblestone streets can be a bit tricky with luggage (pack light!), but once you’re settled, everything you want to see is right there. Plus, having parking available is honestly a godsend in this part of town, where most places leave you scrambling for street spots.
Neighborhood Rhythms
What I really appreciated was how the area transforms throughout the day. Mornings belong to locals heading to work, afternoons bring the tour groups, but evenings — that’s when Petite France shows its true character. The little restaurant terraces fill up with people lingering over wine, and you can hear conversations in half a dozen languages drifting from the canal-side tables. Being based right here means you can duck inside when it gets too crowded, then emerge again when the crowds thin out.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t about thread counts or marble bathrooms — it’s about waking up in one of Europe’s most beautiful neighborhoods and feeling like you belong there, even temporarily. The 9.6 location score isn’t just numbers; it reflects that rare feeling of being exactly where you want to be. Couples especially seem to get it (that 9.3 rating makes total sense), probably because there’s something inherently romantic about having your own little corner in this fairy-tale setting. You’re not just visiting Strasbourg — you’re actually living in its most enchanting quarter, even if it’s just for a few days.

pillowsA pity the stay was not as good as it could have been – David from New Zealand – 5 October 2024 (8/10)
Location at the heart of the Petite France area was excellent, with so many facilities near at hand. Kitchen and bathroom were satisfactory, and bed was OK
What could be improved: Wifi did not work and although the host made some attempt to resolve this, this was unsuccessful with the result that we had no wifi for the duration of our stay. No compensation was offered.
We had a wait of three quarters of an hour before host came to let us into the apartment, despite our having notified her of our expected arrival time
