Hotel Description
So you know how some hotels try way too hard to be fancy and end up feeling kind of sterile? Hotel Beaucour is honestly the opposite of that. I mean, it’s definitely upscale – solid 4-star territory – but there’s something genuinely warm about the place that hits you right when you walk in. Maybe it’s because it sits on rue des Bouchers, which is this narrow cobblestone street that feels like you’ve stepped back a few centuries, but in the best possible way. The building itself has that classic Alsatian thing going on, you know, with the timber framing that Strasbourg does so well.
What really got me was how the staff actually seemed to know the city – not just the tourist stuff, but like, where to grab the best tarte flambée at 10 PM or which direction to walk to avoid the crowds around the cathedral (hint: it’s usually east toward Petite France, but they’ll give you the real insider routes). The rooms are honestly beautiful without being fussy. Mine had these original wooden beams that probably date back centuries, but the bathroom was completely modern – good water pressure, heated floors, all that. There’s this nice balance where you feel the history but aren’t roughing it, if that makes sense. I stayed there during Christmas market season, which is absolutely insane in Strasbourg, and while you could definitely hear some of the evening revelry from the street, it wasn’t disruptive. Actually kind of added to the atmosphere.
Here’s what I really appreciated though – the location is just perfect for actually exploring Strasbourg properly. You’re literally a three-minute walk from the cathedral, but more importantly, you’re right in the heart of where locals actually eat and drink. There’s this little wine bar practically next door that I never would have found otherwise, and the Saturday morning market at Place du Marché aux Poissons is just around the corner. Parking can be a bit of a headache in this part of the old town (well, it’s a headache everywhere in European city centers, let’s be honest), but they’ll sort you out with directions to the nearest garage. The 8.8 rating makes total sense to me – it’s the kind of place that gets the big stuff right while nailing all those little details that actually matter when you’re trying to get a feel for a city. I mean, you could stay at one of those big chain places near the train station, but why would you when you can wake up to church bells and the smell of fresh bread from the boulangerie downstairs?

Location was great.
What could be improved: The only things I think that needs some improvement is the variety of food available at breakfast.Excellent little hotel – comfortable, central and friendly team – Leah from United Kingdom – 6 July 2025 (9/10)

Best hotel stay imaginable! – Anett from Canada – 6 July 2025 (10/10)
Fantastic hotel. One can truly feel at home here.
Beautiful room and facilities, the staff are very friendly and helpful.
We loved having free access to coffee and cold water, it especially made a huge difference during the heatwave. The air conditioning is good, reliable. The room is very comfortable, beautifully done with great attention to details – handmade soap and lotions, little kits to meet the needs of any visitor.
It was an absolute delight, best hotel stay imaginable!
What could be improved: Nothing. It was just perfect all around 🙂Exceptional – Lucie from Czech Republic – 3 July 2025 (10/10)

Everything, free ice cold still and sparkling water and coffee, comfortable quirky decor rooms, friendly staff
What could be improved: NothingPerfect situation – central and right across from Austerlitz parking, views on cathedral – Viviane from Switzerland – 30 June 2025 (10/10)
Beautiful view on the cathedral- very central, parking right across, welcomed air con, comfortable, complimentary water
What could be improved: The bathroom had quite a few touch ups needed – one clogged sink, one leaking and a bit of a moldy bathroom but honestly, details compared to the situation and overall cleanelinessWhen we return to strassbourg, I would return to thiss place, super friendly and perfect location. – Jaap from Luxembourg – 23 June 2025 (8/10)
we visited at the time of the music festival and despite this, it was perfectly bearable. beofre the festival the room was very quiet despite a lively area. very good.
The Stafff were excellent friendly and professional. Highly commendable.
The offer an extensive breakfast in additionto a small option. nice to havethat choise!
The courtyard is a great place to have it! Parking opposite entrance and location perfect as everything withing a short walk away.
What could be improved: I would have gone for the small breakfast option, 3 croissants/pain au chocolat, a freshly pressed orange juise and a coffee super value. (the large breakfast option also looked good, it was justs too hot to eat much. Opted to go to a caffee nearby however as teh fully automatic coffee machine did not inspire me. For most, I am sure it would have been fine.
