Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to this duplex on Route d’Oberhausbergen, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. The address puts you in this sort of residential area north of Strasbourg’s center, where you’re getting away from the tourist crowds but still close enough to hop on the tram into the old town (actually, the Hautepierre-Maillon stop is pretty walkable from here if you don’t mind a bit of a stroll).

What really sold me on this place though was stepping inside and realizing you’ve got this whole duplex to yourself – I mean, it’s not huge or anything, but there’s something really nice about having actual space to spread out instead of being crammed into a standard hotel box. The “chaleureux” part of the name isn’t just marketing speak; they’ve actually made it feel warm and lived-in, with comfortable furniture that doesn’t look like it came from a hotel catalog. And you know what? That private spa situation is legit. I was skeptical at first (you hear “private spa” and sometimes it’s just a sad hot tub in a basement), but this actually delivered. Perfect for unwinding after walking around Strasbourg all day – and trust me, you’ll be doing a lot of walking if you’re exploring the Petite France area or climbing up to the cathedral.

The 7.5 rating feels about right, honestly. It’s not going to blow you away with luxury – this is solid 3-star territory – but it does what it promises without any major hiccups. Parking was straightforward, which is honestly a relief when you’re dealing with European city streets. The hosts were responsive when I had questions, and check-in was smooth enough. I did notice it can get a bit quiet out there in the evenings (which might be exactly what you want), but if you’re looking for nightlife within walking distance, you’ll probably want to head back toward the city center. The location works really well if you’re planning to explore both Strasbourg and maybe venture out to some of the Alsace wine villages – you’re positioned nicely without being stuck in the middle of all the downtown hustle. It’s one of those places where you feel like you’re getting a glimpse of how locals actually live, rather than just passing through another anonymous hotel room.

  What could be improved: The property wasn’t clean enough. The kitchen equipments were not clean and the carpet of the saloon wasn’t clean too. Over all we didn’t like cleaniliness.
