Hotel Description
Look, when I first pulled up to CityCosy Strasbourg on Rue de Bucarest, I’ll be honest – I wasn’t expecting much from the name alone. But this little 3-star gem in Neudorf actually surprised me in the best way. The neighborhood itself is sort of this perfect sweet spot where you’re still properly in Strasbourg but away from the tourist madness around the cathedral. You know what I mean? You can actually hear birds in the morning instead of tour groups.
The thing about Neudorf is that it feels like where actual Strasbourgeois live – there’s this fantastic bakery literally two minutes down the street where I grabbed pain au chocolat every morning, and the tram stop is close enough that you’re in the city center in maybe ten minutes. The hotel sits on this quiet residential street, and honestly, the “Garden” part of the name makes sense once you see the little courtyard they’ve got tucked away. Nothing fancy, but there’s something really peaceful about having your morning coffee out there, especially in late spring when everything’s blooming.
Inside, it’s got that clean, unfussy vibe that French boutique hotels do so well – not trying too hard to be trendy, just comfortable and thoughtful. The rooms are a decent size for European standards (I mean, let’s be realistic here), and the beds are actually really good. I’m picky about mattresses, and I slept better than I expected. The bathroom was modern enough, good water pressure, though the shower is one of those European affairs where you need to be strategic about not flooding the entire floor. The staff at check-in were genuinely helpful – spoke perfect English but were clearly pleased when I attempted my terrible French. They pointed me toward this wine bar on Avenue de la Forêt-Noire that I never would have found otherwise, and it ended up being one of my favorite evenings in the city.
What really won me over was how the place feels once you settle in. It’s quiet at night – like, properly quiet, not just “city quiet” – and the whole building has this relaxed energy. I stayed during what must have been a busy season in September, but it never felt crowded or rushed. Parking was straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven in Strasbourg will tell you is not a given. The 8.1 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it absolutely nails what it’s going for. You’re getting solid comfort, a genuinely pleasant stay, and you’re positioned perfectly to explore both the historic center and some of the neighborhoods that tourists usually miss entirely. If you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re staying somewhere real rather than just passing through, this is your spot.

very good location close to tram and only about 3km from Strasbourg old town, underground parking and a spacious apartment with a private exit to the outside
What could be improved: the apartment is just dirty. the first impression is positive and consistent with the pictures, but the stay is not pleasant. sticky, stained surfaces and uncleaned/never cleaned spaces leave a very unpleasant impression. Lots of small things that make you unconfortablePleasant – Nathalie from Turkey – 7 October 2024 (6/10)

L’emplacement: proche du tramway et du centre ville. L’appartement était propre et spacieux.
What could be improved: Les lits superposés n’étaient pas très confortables. Un peu plus de plats et ustensiles pour cuisiner seraient bienvenus.À part la literie qui serait à changer, c’etait excellent ! Je recommande – Michael from France – 30 October 2023 (9/10)
