Hotel Description
You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from CityCosy Strasbourg when I first walked down Rue Déserte – I mean, the street name literally means “deserted street” in French, which doesn’t exactly scream excitement. But honestly, that turned out to be one of its biggest advantages. The hotel sits in this quiet pocket of Strasbourg that’s close enough to everything but far enough from the tourist chaos that you can actually get some sleep at night.
The place definitely has that modern European family hotel vibe going on – think clean lines, decent-sized rooms (well, decent for European standards), and staff who actually seem to care about what they’re doing. I stayed there during the Christmas market season, which is basically when Strasbourg transforms into tourist central, and while the hotel was busy, it never felt overwhelmed. The front desk folks switched between French, German, and English without missing a beat, which you sort of expect in Strasbourg but still appreciate when you’re tired from walking around all day. What I really liked was how they’d casually mention things like “oh, if you’re heading to the cathedral, cut through Place Kléber around 4 PM to avoid the afternoon tour groups” – little insider tips that made a difference.
Location-wise, you’re about a fifteen-minute walk to the cathedral and Petite France, but here’s the thing – you’re also right near some actual neighborhoods where locals live and work. There’s this great little boulangerie two blocks away on Rue du Faubourg National that opens at 6:30 AM, perfect if you want proper French pastries without paying hotel breakfast prices. The tram stop at Homme de Fer is maybe ten minutes away, so getting around the city or even out to the European Parliament area is pretty straightforward. Parking can be a bit of a pain (this is Strasbourg, after all), but the hotel has a small garage – though I’d definitely reserve a spot ahead of time, especially during peak season. The rooms themselves are comfortable enough, nothing fancy but everything works, and the beds are actually supportive, which is more than I can say for some places I’ve stayed. The WiFi was solid throughout the building, and the breakfast spread, while not groundbreaking, had good coffee and fresh bread, which honestly covers about 80% of what I need to start the day right.

Reviews
Adequate apartment, convenient for travel and local services but requires updating to represent value for money. – Andrew from Australia – 18 June 2024 (6/10)
It was spacious and provided separate bedrooms as required. The location was close to the train station which suited our needs.
What could be improved: The apartment is tired. There were no instructions to operate certain functions (for example the TV or the shower).Good – Jorge from Spain – 3 March 2023 (7/10)
The apartment was spacious
What could be improved: It was on a ground floor, therefore there was no much privacy (direct street view into the room). The beds and the pillows were not very confortable. It was “okay” for the money and the location was perfect. The person who made the check-in was not the owner but he was – Claudio from Ireland – 1 April 2023 (5/10)
Location was perfect
What could be improved: The property was not very clean. We were 5 people and we were given 4 towels, pillows and duvets. When I asked for extra ones they only brought a towel and a pillow cover..Wouldn't recommend this one! – Chris from Germany – 19 October 2022 (3/10)
The location of the apartment is great and the apartment itself is nice, however, I wouldn't recommend it! Pierre (host) was helpful and gave us a lot of information about Strasbourg.
What could be improved: The apartment was really messy! It was dirty, the kitchen was disgusting and when we arrived at the property we saw old towels on the kitchen floor. I was traveling with my family and we are all very flexible and usually write good reviews, but this property really doesn't deserve it. Plus, they didn't even offer soap for hand washing and also showering and we couldn't buy anything because it was a Sunday and the stores were closed. It wasn't a good experience, but at least the apartment was next to the center.Horrible experience never to be repeated. – Nicolás from Chile – 26 June 2023 (1/10)
Nothing. It was a terrible place.
What could be improved: Very noisy at night due to people shouting and screaming in an African neighborhood with Western drinking hours.
It’s a first floor apartment, and one cannot open the windows at night, nor one is comfortable doing so during the day with walkers staring at you inside.
Some of the windows and shutters did not work and had to remain closed in hot weather.
The place was not clean.
Noisy cars/drivers compete for one of the few free parking spots right outside your living room, practically at arm’s reach.
Grimy neighborhood with lots of graffiti on the walls.
The worst place where we stayed during our vacation in May-June 2023.Very good – Maria from Italy – 6 December 2024 (8/10)
Posizione ottima
Cómodo – Frank from Panama – 31 May 2024 (8/10)
Amplio, cómodo, muy céntrico
What could be improved: La entrada era complicada.
– Stefano from Italy – 7 January 2025 (6/10)
La posizione è il pezzo forte. E' a due passi dalla stazione e si raggiunge facilmente a piedi. Inoltre è vicino anche al centro di Strasburgo. L'appartamento è a piano terrà quindi è facilmente raggiungibile.
What could be improved: La pulizia non è sicuramente il pezzo forte della struttura. Siamo entrati nell'appartamento e c'era polvere ovunque. Le lenzuola e i materassi erano tutti macchiati.Location bien située avec garage – Jean from France – 1 June 2023 (8/10)
What could be improved: Lit superposé pour adulte peu confortable
