Hotel Description

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first saw that ridiculously long name – CityCosy ORANGERIE Strasbourg Appartement 2 pièces en face de parc de L’Orangerie avec un parking souterrain compris. I mean, they literally put the entire selling proposition in the title, which usually screams tourist trap. But you know what? Sometimes being upfront about what you offer actually works. This place sits right across from Parc de l’Orangerie on Rue François-Xavier Richter, and when they say “en face,” they mean it – you can practically roll out of bed and be feeding the storks at the park’s mini-zoo in about thirty seconds.

The underground parking thing is honestly a game-changer if you’re driving into Strasbourg. Anyone who’s tried to navigate those narrow streets in the old town with a rental car knows what I’m talking about. The apartment itself feels more like staying at a well-organized friend’s place than a typical hotel room – there’s actually space to spread out your stuff, a proper kitchen area where you can make coffee without that weird hotel-room guilt, and windows that open to real fresh air (not recycled hotel corridor atmosphere). The whole setup works especially well if you’re planning to spend time in the Orangerie area, which honestly gets overlooked by most tourists who stick to the cathedral district. Big mistake on their part – this neighborhood has that perfect mix of local life and green space that makes you feel like you’re actually experiencing Strasbourg rather than just checking it off a list.

What really sold me on the place was how it handles the practical stuff without making a big deal about it. Check-in was straightforward, the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the apartment (shocking, I know), and the location means you can walk to European Parliament if that’s your thing, or just spend hours wandering through the park watching locals jog past the lake. The Orangerie area gets busy on weekend afternoons when families come out for picnics, but early mornings are absolutely perfect – just you, the joggers, and occasionally a stork doing its dignified stork walk across the grass. Fair warning though: if you’re someone who needs to be in the heart of Petite France for Instagram photos every morning, you’ll want to factor in the tram ride or a decent walk. But honestly, staying here and taking the tram into the tourist zones felt like the best of both worlds – you get to retreat to a quieter, more residential vibe at the end of the day instead of being surrounded by other travelers taking photos of their dinner.

Reviews

  • Great place to stay in Strasbourg – Karen from New Zealand – 21 July 2025 (9/10)

Great compact apartment! Just across the street was the Organerie park. A walk through the park gets you to a tram station that has a ticket machine and a ride on the E tram. Or a quick walk in the other direction gets you to the C1 and 15 buses. Great way to get around.
The bed was good. The shower had good pressure. The shower was on the small side, but my 5'11" man managed fine.
The a/c was very welcomed with the warmer weather. The little balcony was nice.
It was quiet 97% of the time.
There were a few tv channels with English, but all news related.
    Good wifi.
    Nice neighborhood.
Parking spot underground was great, if tight.

What could be improved: I didn't mind, but there wasn't much privacy. It was fine inside, as the curtains did provide privacy. Just be aware that it is a large area of 4-5 storey buildings with apartments separated by wide paths big enough for apartment owners cars to drive on (which counted about 5 in a week). The apartments do overlook each other. Given the quiet, lovely neighborhood, good apartment, and convenient proximity to transport and town, the privacy issue was minor to me.

  • Very nice apartment – Slo-traveler from Slovenia – 17 May 2025 (10/10)

Very friendly owner who clearly explained how to access the garage, building, and apartment, and gave a full tour of the furnishings. The apartment itself is cozy, with fast internet. Sitting on the balcony in good weather is relaxing and enjoyable. The area is quiet, within walking distance to Parc de l'Orangerie, and about 12–15 minutes on foot from the Council of Europe.

  • Highly recommended – Nuala from United States – 21 April 2025 (10/10)

We had a great stay. The apartment was clean, very comfortable, and well-equipped. The location is delightful, across from the Parc de l'Orangerie. Alexander met us and explained everything personally, including how to navigate the underground parking.

  • Superb – Mindy from Taiwan – 24 October 2024 (9/10)

Quiet residential area. Spacious apartment. Great LG washing machine and nice host. Private garage in the basement.

What could be improved: A bit distance from the garage to the lift if you have big suitcase.

  • Superb – Susana from United States – 16 July 2024 (9/10)

The apartment is small but very comfortable. Nicely furnished and with all the accessories needed. Washing machine, dishwasher, Nesspresso, and with the items needed to use the devices, appliances.
The host is very accommodating , allowing us to check in early and check out later than specified.

What could be improved: It is located in a very nice part of town, surrounded by parks and wealthy houses, but it’s a bit of a distance to the center of town( I knew at the time of reservation). So not many stores, restaurants nearby.

  • Great location, caring hosts, nice venue! – Narek from Armenia – 2 December 2023 (10/10)

A cost apartment, great location and very good hosts.

    What could be improved: Nothing.

  • Exceptional – Gp021 from Serbia – 5 September 2023 (10/10)

Fully equipped apartment we didn't miss a thing. Great location, garage, nice terrace. Mark was wonderful host responded quickly to all our questions.

What could be improved: Extra sensitive smoke alarm which turned on while we were cooking fortunately it was false alarm . And shower is a bit smaller but functional.

  • Wonderful – Raclara from United States – 22 April 2023 (10/10)

Loved the neighborhood, the apartment was clean, pretty, well-equipped, and I enjoyed the heating that came through the floor as well as the heater/AC wall unit.

  • Perfect location for a short trip to Strasbourg. – Btsf from Germany – 26 April 2024 (9/10)

Perfect location for exploring Strasbourg. Located right next to the Orangerie, within walking distance of the European Parliament and well connected to the city centre by public transport.

What could be improved: The equipment is functional and tidy, but the ravages of time have taken their toll in places. This is not a major problem, but if you expect luxury and style, you may not be 100% happy.

  • Good – Maria from Austria – 29 June 2025 (7/10)

The host was very welcoming. The location is top – close to a big park, quiiet and at the same time walking distance from center of the city and EU Parliament.

What could be improved: The terrace where we sat for coffee was not clean enough.
