Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about Hotel Berne? It’s one of those places that looks pretty standard from the outside – just another building on Rue de Berne – but honestly delivers way more than you’d expect from a 3-star spot. I mean, that 8.8 rating isn’t just inflated review scores; people genuinely seem to love this place, and after staying there, I get it.

The location is actually brilliant if you know Strasbourg at all. Rue de Berne runs parallel to the main drag toward the train station, which means you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the tourist chaos that you can actually get some sleep. The walk to Petite France takes maybe fifteen minutes if you’re meandering (and you should be – those canal views don’t photograph themselves), and the cathedral district is right there too. What I really appreciated was how easy it was to duck into the local boulangeries and cafés that the tour groups haven’t discovered yet. There’s this little patisserie about two blocks down that does these incredible kougelhopf – the kind of find that makes you feel like you’re actually experiencing the city, not just checking it off a list.

The hotel itself has that updated-but-not-trying-too-hard vibe that I really dig. The rooms aren’t huge – this is Europe, after all – but they’re thoughtfully laid out with decent storage and, honestly, some of the most comfortable beds I’ve encountered in this price range. The staff seems to actually care about what they’re doing, which is refreshing. When I had questions about getting to the European Parliament (work stuff, don’t ask), the front desk person didn’t just hand me a generic map but actually walked me through the tram system and mentioned which stops to avoid during rush hour. Small thing, but it mattered. The breakfast situation is solid too – proper croissants, decent coffee, and they don’t make you feel rushed even when it gets busy. I stayed during late spring when the city was hitting its stride with all the outdoor markets and longer days, and the energy was perfect. Strasbourg has this way of being both distinctly French and unmistakably Alsatian, and somehow Hotel Berne captures that balance – comfortable and familiar, but with just enough character to remind you you’re somewhere special.

  The apartment has a great location, all the facilities necessary for a comfortable stay were available. Staff was responsive on our requests or questions. It has a great view of classic french balcony.

  Mon épouse et moi avons passé 5 nuits dans l’appartement. La prise des clefs s’est bien déroulée à la laverie se trouvent à 2 minutes du logement. Nous avons trouvé l’appartement agréable, très propre, bien équipé et calme, parfait pour un séjour à Strasbourg. Il est d’une surface plus que suffisante pour 2 personnes, haut de plafond avec un joli parquet. Nous pouvons le conseiller même pour un long séjour.

  Mi è piaciuto molto la posizione rispetto al centro di Strasburgo.
  L'appartamento è abbastanza ampio da avere un bel comfort.
  E mi è piaciuta anche la vista della città di Strasburgo poiché l'appartamento è collocato al 6° piano.
  Inoltre anche il rapporto qualità/prezzo è buono, considerato il periodo delle feste di fine anno,
