Résidence Romains 1G – hébergement de tourisme classé avec garage gratuit Overview
First Impressions
The Résidence Romains 1G – hébergement de tourisme classé avec garage gratuit sits quietly on Route des Romains, and honestly, you might drive past it if you’re not paying attention. It’s not flashy — just a solid four-star property that feels more like a well-appointed apartment building than a traditional hotel. What caught my eye immediately was the private parking garage, which anyone who’s tried to park in Strasbourg‘s historic center will tell you is worth its weight in gold.
The Space
I mean, calling it a room doesn’t really do it justice — you’re getting a proper living space here. The kitchenette is actually functional (not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation), and there’s enough counter space to prep a real meal if you want to skip the restaurant scene for a night. The layout feels thoughtful, like someone actually considered how people live rather than just where they sleep. You know what I appreciated? The windows are generous, so you’re not stuck in some cave-like space.
Location Perks
Here’s the thing about this spot — you’re close enough to walk into the old town, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with tourist crowds right outside your door. Route des Romains connects you pretty easily to the main attractions, and I found myself walking to Petite France in about fifteen minutes. The tram stops aren’t far either, which opens up the whole city without needing that car (though again, having the garage is clutch). Couples seem to really get this balance — it’s got that romantic Strasbourg charm without feeling like you’re camping out in a postcard.
What Actually Works
The free parking thing isn’t just a nice-to-have — it’s a game-changer in this city. I’ve stayed in places where parking costs more per night than some hotel rooms, so having it included feels almost too good to be true. The space itself is clean and well-maintained, nothing fancy but everything works properly. The kitchenette means you can grab groceries and actually use them, which is perfect for longer stays or if you just want coffee that doesn’t cost eight euros.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t going to be the most Instagram-worthy place you’ve ever stayed, but it nails the practical stuff that makes a trip actually enjoyable. Recent guests keep mentioning the location rating, and I get it — you’re positioned perfectly to explore without being in the thick of everything. The fact that couples rate it so highly tells you something about the vibe here. It’s comfortable, it’s functional, and it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need, especially in a city like Strasbourg where the real magic happens outside your hotel anyway.
Apartments in Strasbourg provide travelers with an authentic local experience, allowing them to shop at traditional markets and cook with fresh ingredients from the renowned Alsatian culinary traditions.

Verder alles prima.Superb – Michal from Poland – 13 July 2025 (9/10)
Superb – David from Canada – 23 December 2024 (9/10)
Great spot to stay very convenient to groceries and the tram spot. Very close to downtown
Compact but comfortable and clean – Rachel from United Kingdom – 22 September 2024 (8/10)
The apartment was compact and comfortable with most facilities that we needed. The location, while not pretty, has good transport in to town.
A nice flat with a private garage – Ms from Slovenia – 18 September 2024 (10/10)
Very clean apartment, garage (Opel Mokka fitted in without any problems), kitchen, shower. We had a great stay. The tram, a pharmacy, supermarket Lidl, playground etc. are all just around the corner, the neighborhood is better than some other parts of Strasbourg. Regarding the comments of some other Booking users: easy check-in, many clear instructions for everything, a responsive host, 2 sleep in the bedroom and 1 or 2 can sleep on the sofa in the main area. Curtains are thick, but allow some daylight in. The level of noise from the street and the tram are normal for a flat in a city, no reason for complaints.
What could be improved: There are many things in the kitchen which is very nice and useful, however, there was no large pot (to cook 1 kg of pasta for example).Adequate – Kate from Australia – 31 December 2023 (6/10)
The location is great, close to the tram stop and across the road from a good bakery.
What could be improved: we had booked the apartment on the understanding that it was a 2 bedroom apartment with a living room (as per the description on booking.com). This turned out not to be the case, it is a 1 bedroom apartment with a sofa bed in the living room/kitchen/dining area. Not at all what we were led to believe we were paying for.Very good – Maryna from Germany – 9 October 2023 (8/10)
What could be improved: The floor in the apartment was very dirty. There is no dishwasher.
Superb – Alina from Romania – 29 August 2023 (9/10)
The apt is ok. It has everything you need (except for washing pods, be sure to buy some if you want to clean your clothes).
It would be nice if the owner would mark the keys to know which one belong. 🙂
In general, a nice stay. I would recommend it.Good balance price/location/comfort! – Cristina from Romania – 14 July 2023 (9/10)
Everything went smooth, host was very nice and available at any time for help, the appartment is nice and the location is great. We recommend the just across the street pizzeria called Limoncello 😀 we became friends with the owner, who has been serving us home made limoncello on the house.
What could be improved: the bedroom has a high window, hardly accessible, and no shadows for sun blocking. Air conditioning could also be useful during the summer time. We stayed here in july and it was really hot even with the open window…Exceptional – Arwa from Saudi Arabia – 1 August 2022 (10/10)
clean and well designed 👍🏻
