Appartement Place Kléber Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Appartement Place Kléber on Rue de la Grange, you immediately get that “I’m staying somewhere special” feeling. This four-star property sits right in the beating heart of Strasbourg, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. I mean, you’re literally steps away from Place Kléber — that’s the main square where everything happens in this city. The moment you arrive, you’ll understand why this destination has become increasingly popular with travelers seeking authentic urban experiences.

The Heart of Strasbourg

The location score of 8.9 isn’t just a number — it actually makes sense when you’re here. You can walk to the cathedral in about five minutes, and the Christmas markets (if you’re visiting in winter) are practically at your doorstep. What I really appreciated was how couples seem to love this spot — they’ve rated it 8.1 for romantic getaways, and you know what, I get it. There’s something about being able to stroll through those cobblestone streets without worrying about catching trams or taxis back to some distant hotel. The surrounding neighborhood offers endless opportunities for discovery and leisurely exploration.

The Apartment Experience

This isn’t your typical hotel room setup — you’re getting an apartment experience right in the city center. The space feels more like staying at a well-appointed friend’s place than a standard hotel, which some travelers absolutely love. You’ll have more room to spread out, and there’s something nice about having that extra space when you’re exploring a city like Strasbourg. The 7.3 rating suggests it’s solid without being perfect — probably means the basics are well-covered but don’t expect cutting-edge amenities. This accommodation style provides genuine comfort and practicality for extended stays.

Getting Around

Here’s where the location really shines — you barely need to think about transportation. The tram stops are close by if you want to venture further out, but honestly, most of what you’ll want to see in Strasbourg is walkable from here. Petite France, the European Parliament, the university area — they’re all reachable on foot. I found that staying this centrally actually saved money since we weren’t constantly buying tram tickets or calling Ubers. The pedestrian-friendly streets make navigation effortless and enjoyable.

Why Guests Love It

The real appeal here is that perfect balance of central location without the tourist trap feeling. You’re on a quieter side street, so you get some peace, but step out the door and you’re immediately in the action. Couples particularly seem to appreciate this setup — probably because you can easily pop back to freshen up between exploring and dinner, or grab a bottle of wine and enjoy it in your own space rather than a cramped hotel room. The apartment-style accommodation gives you that flexibility to really settle in and experience Strasbourg like a local, even if you’re only there for a few days. This unique combination of convenience and authenticity makes it an exceptional choice for discerning travelers.

Hotels in Strasbourg offer guests the perfect blend of French elegance and Alsatian charm, with many featuring regional wine concierge services and traditional half-timbered architecture to enhance the authentic Franco-German cultural experience.

Reviews of Appartement Place Kléber

  • Fairly disappointing apartment that was not particularly good value for money. – Andrew from Australia – 15 May 2025 (6/10)

Easy walk to old town. About 12 minutes walk from the station. A lift to second floor.

What could be improved: Not particularly clean or comfortable. Random mismatched furniture and kitchen appliances, cutlery and crockery that looks like it could have been sourced from an op shop gave the apartment a retro student rental flat vibe, at a much more upmarket pricepoint.

  • Disappointment and waste of money – Kashi from Germany – 9 July 2023 (1/10)

Nothing, apart from close to the city Centre. This property has no facility and not maintained at all. To top it the Property Owner is extremely rude. I would say avoid this property.

What could be improved: Towels & Lenins were stained
    No fan in apartment

Leave the property, even booking.com did not own to the description provided while booking.

  • Best place in this budget – Gargi from France – 11 June 2023 (9/10)

Apartment location was in the center of the city.

    What could be improved: NA

  • Beautiful little apartment in a great area – Dale from Australia – 30 May 2023 (10/10)

Perfect location in a little street off Place Kleber. On the other side of the Place was a huge Monoprix. Five minutes walk from the many tram lines. Five minutes or so from the Cathedrale. Lift to the first floor. Very comfortable apartment with up-market facilities, including a washer/dryer

What could be improved: Nowhere really to sit and relax. I was solo so spent my time on the sofabed. The only other chair was an office chair.

  • Good location and practical – Zeina from Lebanon – 19 April 2023 (8/10)

    The location

  • A wonderful location for an average apartment – Aida from Lebanon – 5 January 2023 (5/10)

Location was super, in the heart of the event , walking distance from Christmas market and shopping centers and even walkable distance from train central station and all important attractions in the city

What could be improved: The apartment wasn't very clean , main bed is ok but extra bed sheets not very clean
The kitchen doesnt have an oven eventhough it's mentioned on the site

  • Impersonal, noisy (in the mornings) and great location. – David from Belgium – 28 November 2022 (7/10)

    location

What could be improved: Noisy garbage trucks woke me up at 6pm every morning. Some coffee, tea and sugar would be…nice. The TV-set was tiny.

  • good stay but prepare some earbuds – Sze from Malaysia – 7 September 2022 (9/10)

location is near to anywhere! can walk to any major attraction by foot

What could be improved: the noise from the cafe as early as 5am

  • Great location. Ok for a short stay. – Diana from Mexico – 2 September 2022 (7/10)

The location is great, within an easy walk from everything. supermarket around the corner and tram is very close.

What could be improved: The dishes and kitchen equipment was not very clean. we had to wash everything before using it.

  • Would suit a group of students on a weekend better than a family for holiday – Nicolas from France – 15 August 2022 (7/10)

Clean flat in a prime location in the center of Strasbourg.

What could be improved: Clearly not for a family of four as we initially booked it for: the bathroom needs to be accessed from the bedroom, and the other (double) bed in the living room and blocks the rest of the flat => nowhere to put the kids.
Flat has been renovated without charm, but the rest of the building is in poor shape: front door doesn't close, bins overflow, …
Overall location is great (center of Strasbourg) but the flat is stuck in a tiny street without any view, over 2 restaurants => loads of noise in the evening.
