Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of Strasbourg apartments over the years, but this place on Rue du Vieux-Marché-aux-Vins honestly surprised me. When you first walk up to number 31, it’s one of those classic Alsatian buildings that doesn’t look like much from the street – but that’s kind of the point. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Place Kléber (I timed it), which means you can stumble out your door and be at Galeries Lafayette or grabbing morning pastries at the Christmas market without dealing with trams or parking nightmares.

The apartment itself is actually quite spacious at 66 square meters – I mean, that’s real space, not some cramped studio situation. What struck me most was how they managed to keep the old-world charm without making everything feel museum-stuffy, you know? The windows are tall and let in this amazing light, especially in the morning when the sun hits the courtyard. And honestly, the location on this particular street is perfect because it’s residential enough that you’re not dealing with drunk tourists stumbling around at 2 AM (unlike some places closer to Petite France), but you’re still walking distance from everything that matters. I could hear the cathedral bells in the morning, which sounds cliché but actually becomes this nice rhythm to your day.

Here’s what I really appreciated – the neighborhood feel. There’s a little boulangerie about thirty seconds away where the owner actually remembers your usual order after a couple days, and the Saturday market on Place du Marché-aux-Poissons is close enough that you can grab fresh produce without it being a whole expedition. Parking can be tricky in this area (well, it’s tricky everywhere in Strasbourg’s center), but there are a few paid spots nearby, and the tram connections from Place Kléber mean you can easily ditch the car entirely. The building itself is quiet – those old stone walls really do block out noise – and the check-in process was straightforward, none of that “meet me at a café three blocks away” nonsense you sometimes get with apartment rentals. I stayed there during both a busy festival weekend and a random Tuesday in February, and it felt equally comfortable both times. That 9.6 rating makes sense when you experience how everything just… works.

Early hotels booking in Strasbourg is essential during major events like the Christmas Market, as accommodations fill up quickly with visitors eager to experience the city’s renowned festive atmosphere and Gothic architecture.

  The hosts kindly provided a range of breakfast foods and a welcome drink, all of much was greatly appreciated.
  
  What could be improved: Tghe location is fabulous and the apartment more than compenstaes for its only disadvantage – it is on the third floor of a building without a lift. Our hosts gave us plenty of notice about this, and whilst it wasn't a problem for us, it needs to be considered by those with mobilty issues or who are carrying heavy luggage..

  This property is fantastic and we were so fortunate to stay here during our trip. It could have not been anymore perfect with Anne’s Moms, homemade cookies to the champagne waiting for us when we arrived. We were beat after arriving from Cologne.   Tucked around the corner from Place Kleber. Lots of great restaurants in area and easy walking distance to train station, Petite France and Notre Dame Cathedral. Host was great with communications and place was spotless on arrival with lots of treats and starter food items. Apartment is ample space with all essential appliances including washer/dryer.
  
  What could be improved: My stay was too short three days. While not bothering my family those with mobility challenges should be aware it is on the third floor with no elevator and the street car operates on the side the bedroom is on for very light sleepers.

  This is the most amazing apartment. Very spacious, very clean and modern, everything you need from plates to games. The location is perfect for exploring Strasbourg and beyond. The host is very responsive to communication and provided very clear check in instructions. They also provided a bottle of wine and lots of treats.
  
  What could be improved: The only downside was some noise from the trams passing by early in the morning.
