It’s tucked into this quiet residential street in the Neudorf area, and while it might not have the old-world charm of staying right in Petite France, there’s something refreshing about being where actual Strasbourgeois live their daily lives. The apartment itself lives up to that “cosy” promise – it’s got this warm, lived-in feel that makes you want to kick off your shoes immediately. The kitchen actually works (I mean, really works, not just for show), and there’s enough space to spread out without feeling like you’re camping in a hotel room.

What really sold me on this place is how genuine the whole experience feels. The host clearly knows their stuff about the neighborhood – they pointed me toward this incredible little bakery just two streets over that I never would’ve found otherwise. And that 10-minute claim to the city center? Well, it’s more like 12-15 minutes walking at a normal pace, but honestly, it’s a pleasant walk along Avenue de la Forêt-Noire, and you pass some great little cafés if you need a coffee break. The tram connection is solid too – Krimmeri-Meinau stop is practically around the corner, and from there you’re in the heart of Strasbourg in maybe 8 minutes. I actually preferred this setup to staying right in the tourist zone because you get to see how the city breathes beyond the cathedral crowds.

The apartment stays surprisingly quiet considering you’re still in the city – those thick European walls really do their job. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle (welcome to Strasbourg), but there’s usually something within a block or two if you’re patient. What I appreciated most was how the space felt curated rather than just furnished – there are these thoughtful touches like decent lighting for reading and a proper shower with actual water pressure. The 8.4 rating makes total sense to me; it’s not trying to be luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises with a bit of local character thrown in. If you want to experience Strasbourg like you’re temporarily living there rather than just passing through, this is your spot.

  Flat was spacious. Rather cold on arrival day but owner agreed to up temperature next day & provide additional quilts.
  
  What could be improved: Flat is outside Strasbourg. 25 min by Tram from train station then 10 min walk to the appartment. Too far from center especially in Winter when it is dark very early. One must rely on public transport to reach the appartment or have a car.
