Hotel Description
You know what? When I first walked down Rue Finkwiller looking for this place, I almost thought I’d taken a wrong turn – it’s tucked into this quiet residential stretch that feels worlds away from the tourist crowds, even though you’re literally a ten-minute walk from the cathedral. The apartment sits in one of those classic Strasbourg buildings with the timber framing that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a fairy tale, which honestly never gets old no matter how many times you’ve seen it.
The thing about staying here is that you’re in the Petite France area without actually being right in the thick of it. I mean, you can hear the tour groups during the day if you have the windows open, but by evening it’s surprisingly peaceful – just the occasional cyclist pedaling home and maybe some locals chatting on their way to dinner. The apartment itself is pretty straightforward, nothing fancy but clean and functional. The kitchen’s small but it works (I managed to make coffee and heat up pastries from the boulangerie around the corner), and the bathroom’s one of those European compact jobs where everything’s efficiently arranged. What I really appreciated was the decent Wi-Fi and the fact that the heating actually worked well – staying in historic buildings can be a gamble on that front.
Here’s the thing though – location-wise, you’re golden. Cross the bridge and you’re in the main old town within minutes, but you can also walk along the Ill River in the other direction toward the more residential neighborhoods where you’ll find better prices on groceries and cafes that aren’t tourist traps. The closest parking is at the Place du Marché-aux-Poissons garage, maybe a five-minute walk with luggage (and honestly, driving in central Strasbourg is more stress than it’s worth anyway). I’d say this place works best for people who want to feel like they’re living in the city rather than just visiting – you know, picking up bread for breakfast, taking evening walks along the canals, that sort of thing. It’s not luxury by any stretch, and the 7.2 rating seems about right – solid, reliable, authentic Strasbourg without the polish of a hotel. Perfect if you want to experience the city like a temporary local rather than a tourist checking boxes.

Presque tout en fait.. Ça a été une très bonne expérience.
What could be improved: Le ballon d’eau chaude qui était presque vide en arrivant, tu commence t’as douche et puis tu te dis "et merde". Les assiettes et couverts n’était pas tous propres.Geen balans prijs en geboden appartement – Franciscus from Netherlands – 12 July 2025 (6/10)
Prima lokatie
What could be improved: Staat van het appartement. Kan wel een timmerman / schilder gebruiken. Geen bestek, pannen wat vettig. Geen grote parkeergaraga vlakbij. Straattarief max. 2 1/2 uur richting 7 euro.appartement bien situé, bien agencé et propre. – Séverine from France – 11 February 2024 (9/10)
A revoir. – Florence from France – 1 April 2024 (5/10)
