Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about this place? The moment you step inside, it actually feels like someone’s stylish home rather than your typical rental apartment. The Duplex with Sauna is tucked right on Rue des Veaux, which honestly couldn’t be more perfect if you’re trying to stay in the heart of Strasbourg’s old town. I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from the cathedral – and I’m talking about those leisurely tourist strolls where you stop to gawk at half-timbered buildings, not power-walking.
The duplex layout works really well, especially if you’re traveling with friends or family who need some breathing room. Downstairs you’ve got your living area and kitchen (which is actually equipped for real cooking, not just reheating takeout), and upstairs the bedrooms feel properly separate from everything else. But here’s the thing that sold me – that sauna. After spending hours wandering through Petite France or climbing up to Barrage Vauban, there’s something almost magical about having your own little wellness retreat to come back to. The whole setup feels distinctly European in the best way, like the kind of amenity you’d never think to look for but absolutely love once you have it.
What I really appreciated was how the location lets you live like a local for a few days. There’s a morning market just around the corner where you can grab fresh bread and cheese, and you’re close enough to all the main sights that you never need to stress about transportation. The area does get a bit busy during peak tourist hours – I mean, you’re in the cathedral quarter after all – but evenings are surprisingly peaceful. Parking can be tricky (it’s old-town Strasbourg, so that’s kind of expected), but honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t need a car anyway. The tram connections are solid if you want to venture further out, maybe over to the European Parliament or the German border.
The place sits at that sweet spot where it’s nice enough to feel special but not so fancy that you’re afraid to actually relax. At 7.8 rating, it’s clearly doing something right – probably that combination of the unique sauna feature and being so centrally located without the premium price tag of the big hotels. Sure, it’s not going to have a concierge or room service, but if you’re the type who’d rather explore local bistros than order hotel food anyway, this works out perfectly.
Travelers should reserve a hotel in Strasbourg at least two months ahead of their visit to ensure availability and secure better rates, especially during the peak December season when the city hosts its world-famous Christmas celebrations.

Reviews
Very good – Wayne from United States – 18 December 2023 (8/10)
Location was fantastic. Close to parking and Christmas markets. Check-in was easy with key box entry. Large size bathroom with walk-in shower.
What could be improved: Steep steps to bedroom; but not an issue for my wife and I. Mattress needs to be replaced.Superb – Slavica from Serbia – 8 December 2023 (9/10)
What could be improved: We were in front of apartman but the owner didn't give us the cod for the key. We had to call him to give us the code. Previously the onersalways left me a code in the message.
Great location and very nice apartment. – Zvac from Romania – 5 September 2023 (9/10)
Location very close to the center of Strasbourg. Has everything you need for your stay.
What could be improved: Nasty smell in the bathroom.Centrally located, clean, spacious, comfortable , well-equipped, easy check-in& check-out, friendly interactions wit – Marcus from Belgium – 17 July 2023 (9/10)
Centrally located, clean, spacious, comfortable , well-equipped, easy check-in& check-out, friendly interactions with the host
What could be improved: The only drawback is that one really has to chase afterwards to get a bill, which is a bit annoyingSuperb – Cindy from Belgium – 21 December 2022 (9/10)
Well placed, nicely equipped, comfortable, friendly hosts, sauna for the win
What could be improved: The flat is ground floor and basement, so it can get very dark. Anyway, I didn't mind much as it was getting dark early and I was out of the flat during the day.We loved our stay and look forward to coming back again during Christmas time 🙂 – Tiffany from United States – 7 August 2022 (9/10)
Just about everything! The location was awesome, 5 minute walk from the Cathedral. the apartment is beautifully designed, beds were comfy. also, by this leg of our journey we were a bit homesick, so being able to watch Netflix in English in the TV was an added bonus 🙂 my 12 year old daughter said it is everything she would want in an apartment when she grows up :).
What could be improved: the downstairs bedroom didn’t have great airflow so it got pretty hot ( and humid with use of the shower) Adding an extra fan downstairs would be awesome.Good. – Jade from United Kingdom – 2 October 2024 (7/10)
Location.
What could be improved: No view or windows. Court yard at back was dirty and not pleasant to look at when window was open.Superb – Abhishek from Switzerland – 19 July 2024 (9/10)
The location of the apartment is great once you are able to find it 🙂
Nice cozy apartment – Pachuau from Netherlands – 3 April 2024 (9/10)
Location of the property is great and Virginie (host/owner) was amazing. It's a really cozy apartment with a very authentic and modern touch to it.
What could be improved: Since the room was in the basement and the main door seemed fragile, it was quite easy to hear footsteps and door closing everytime someone enters the building. Also since there is sauna, there is a moist smell in the apartment and the bathroom (but not a major bummer given the other positive side + value for money)A quiet stay near the cathedral. – Bernadette from Switzerland – 14 December 2023 (7/10)
I liked that it was on a quiet street close to the center.
What could be improved: The bed wasn't properly made with a blanket. There was only a throw which wasn't big enough for 2 people. The bathroom smelled of the sewer when the dehumidifier was turned off.
