Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to the Aparthotel Adagio Access on rue de Wasselonne, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? This spot actually surprised me in the best way possible. The building itself has this understated modern look that doesn’t try too hard, and honestly, that sets the tone for the whole experience.

What really got me was the location – I mean, you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Petite France, which is probably the most Instagram-worthy part of Strasbourg with all those half-timbered houses and canals. But here’s the thing most people don’t realize: you’re far enough away from the tourist crowds that you can actually sleep at night. I stayed there during the Christmas market season (which, trust me, gets absolutely insane), and while you could hear a bit of distant chatter in the evenings, it wasn’t the chaos you’d expect. The staff at check-in mentioned that rue de Wasselonne tends to quiet down after 9 PM, and they were spot-on about that.

The rooms themselves feel more like small apartments than typical hotel rooms – there’s actually counter space in the kitchenette where you can spread out your maps and planning stuff, plus a decent-sized fridge. I ended up grabbing cheese and wine from the little Monoprix about two blocks away and having impromptu dinners while looking out at the surprisingly pleasant street view. The bed was comfortable enough (though the pillows were a bit flat for my taste), and the shower had proper water pressure, which… well, you never know with European hotels sometimes. What I really appreciated was the extra storage space – when you’re doing that whole “pack light but somehow accumulate souvenirs” thing, having actual closet space makes a difference. The Wi-Fi was solid too, which matters when you’re trying to figure out train schedules or send photos home.

Parking was easier than I expected for Strasbourg – there’s street parking that’s free on Sundays, and they pointed me toward a garage about five minutes’ walk away that wasn’t too expensive. The tram stop at Homme de Fer is maybe a 10-minute walk, so getting to the European Parliament area or the main train station is pretty straightforward. Actually, I ended up walking most places because you’re right in that sweet spot where everything feels accessible. The cathedral is about 15 minutes on foot through some really charming streets, and you pass by plenty of winstubs (those cozy Alsatian restaurants) along the way.

I’d definitely stay here again, especially for the price point. It’s one of those places that doesn’t oversell itself but delivers on what actually matters when you’re exploring a city – clean, comfortable, well-located, and staffed by people who seem to genuinely want to help. The 8.1 rating makes sense to me; it’s not trying to be luxury, but it nails the fundamentals really well.

  • Great – Simon from Switzerland – 21 July 2025 (9/10)

We arrived early and were allowed to enter the spacious, comfortable and clean room earlier. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was great. Quiet, but very close to public transportation to get the old town quickly.

  • Good Hotel with Great Location – Nick_hodge from United Kingdom – 14 July 2025 (9/10)

Nice International type hotel, clean comfortable with charged underground parking for cars and motorcycles (15EUR per day 2025). The best part was the location, outside of the bustle but in easy walking distance to the station and Petit le France (The picturesque old town of Strasbourg

  • Superb – Traveling from United States – 5 July 2025 (9/10)

During the heatwave I appricated the AC. The space was big enough for me and tidy. The kitchen was very clean and had all the basic equipment. You could even borrow things like an expresso machine downstairs. The staff was very kind. Overall it was a lovely and peaceful stay.

What could be improved: Nothing to complain about

  • A well-located hotel with kitchenette, & friendly, professional staff, made for a comfortable stay. – Kerry from Australia – 2 June 2025 (9/10)

I liked the separation of the bathroom from the sleeping and kitchen area, and appreciated having a proper wardrobe.
Everything was clean and cared for.
The location of the hotel, near the Museum of Contemporary Arts, and also near the station was helpful. It was a walkable distance from the station plus there was an excellent tram & bus system nearby.

The staff were friendly and polite at the best of times, but they really showed their professionalism and willingness to go beyond normal expectations when my partner had a medical episode in our room on our first morning. The reception and house staff rallied and carried out basic First Aid while we waited for an ambulance. We'd like to commend their actions and thank them profoundly. Due to my stress at the time I'm not sure how many helped but Patricia and Samilia were amongst those who calmly took the situation into hand, along with the manager who helped with translations. Many thanks everyone.

What could be improved: The kitchenette/dining area was a little limited in space if we wanted to cook or eat in our room.
Also, the shower head was so high and maladjusted that it had to be hand-held or else would have sprayed the whole room.
    Otherwise everything was perfect.

  • Excellent base to explore Strasbourg – Marc from United Kingdom – 24 May 2025 (9/10)

Friendly staff, relaxed friendly atmosphere, clean room, good mattress, quiet, good location

  • Yes chose this one excellent comfort and value – Rachel from United Kingdom – 11 May 2025 (9/10)

Everything! Comfortable room with kitchenette, friendly and helpful staff. Well thought out communal space including laundry, lockers for stored luggage, seating area, extra equipment toys etc to borrow.

What could be improved: Slightly nearer the historic area would be nice but it is a pretty good location near transport and a supermarket. Pillows are not great but being picky.

  • Will definitely recommend and return if construction work finishes – Tomer from Israel – 10 May 2025 (8/10)

The location and distance from the center and the room was good

What could be improved: Construction work right next to the hotel, woke us up early and kept us from sleeping late
