Honestly, when I first walked up to Une Parenthèse à Strasbourg on Boulevard du Président-Wilson, I wasn’t expecting much – the street’s pretty busy and you’ve got trams rattling by every few minutes. But you know what? The moment you step inside, it’s like someone hit the mute button on the city. The whole place has this unexpectedly calm vibe that makes you forget you’re literally steps away from one of Strasbourg’s main arteries.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to feel both polished and genuinely welcoming – I mean, it’s a proper 4-star spot, so your towels are going to be fluffy and the wifi actually works (thank god), but there’s none of that sterile hotel chain nonsense. The staff actually remembers your name after day one, and they’ll give you real directions to places, not just the tourist traps. Speaking of getting around, you’re basically perfectly positioned here – it’s maybe a 12-minute walk to the cathedral if you cut through the old streets (which you absolutely should), and honestly, the location is kind of genius because you can easily walk to Petite France but you’re not stuck in the middle of all those tour groups. The tram stop right outside means you can zip over to the European Parliament area without thinking twice, though I’d recommend walking when the weather’s decent because you’ll stumble onto those little squares that don’t make it into guidebooks.

The rooms themselves are what I’d call thoughtfully done – not trying too hard to be trendy, but everything feels intentional. Mine faced the courtyard side, which meant I could actually sleep past 7 AM without hearing delivery trucks (learned that lesson the hard way at my last Strasbourg hotel). The bed was one of those where you sink in just enough without feeling like you’re being swallowed, and they’d clearly invested in proper blackout curtains. I appreciated the little touches too – decent coffee setup, enough outlets that I wasn’t crawling around unplugging lamps, and a bathroom where you can actually move around without doing some weird contortion dance. The whole place just feels like someone thought about what travelers actually need rather than what looks good in photos. Plus, and this might sound silly, but the breakfast room has these big windows that catch the morning light beautifully – made me want to linger over coffee instead of rushing out to sightsee, which is saying something for me.

  The apartment was lovely. Plenty of space, very well equipped and had everything we needed to make the stay so comfortable. Big rooms and lots of living space. We walked everywhere.

  The property was very spacious and had lots of appliances & cooking utensils. We loved we had olive oil for cooking and dressing salads, really really appreciated.

  The location is decent, very close to train station and reasonable walk to city center. Very spacious with pretty decent storage for Europe. The armoire in one bedroom was a little musty though so didn't use. Motorized blinds in all rooms worked very well. NIce to have a clothes washer and basic toiletries. Kitchen set up seemed decent, but honestly I don't cook on vacation so didn't really evaluate. There was a nespresso and plenty of pods as well as a kettle and some tea bags.
  
  What could be improved: While nice to have separate toilet, a hook for hand towel is needed. Towel kept falling on floor as no where to keep it. The complete lack of carpet/ rugs/ curtains makes the space an echo chamber so voices are amplified. May be an issue if staying with multiple couples etc. We felt like we had to whisper at night in order not to disturb neighbors. There can be some street noise and noise from courtyard but not too bad. Beds hard and pillows flat. (Might be a regional thing as similar to prior stay in Strasbourg this year, and my daughter said all throughout Germany it's the same)Having to collect keys and drop off at a different location was a bit of a pain, especially since in both instances you're dragging luggage with you.

  Appartement très spacieux et bien situé par rapport à la gare et au centre. Et très calme fenêtres fermées.
  Appartement atypique, haut de plafond, qui comporte tout le nécessaire pour un séjour de plusieurs jours.
  La cuisine est particulièrement bien équipée, et la salle de bain comporte une douche et une baignoire, c’est appréciable.
  
  What could be improved: Le seul petit bémol : On peut etre surpris de donner sur une avenue passante, sans rideaux pour avoir de l’intimité.

  Bellissimo appartamento, molto accogliente, pulito, pieno di accessori, manca solo un grosso specchio fuori del bagno. Resto tutto perfetto anche la localizzazione centrale.
