Hotel Description
Okay, so you know how sometimes you find a place that’s just… right? That’s this little T2 apartment on Rue Thiergarten. I mean, the name literally translates to “charming T2 near the station,” which honestly sounds a bit underwhelming until you actually get there and realize they weren’t kidding about either part.
The location is what really sold me on this place. You’re maybe a seven-minute walk from Gare Centrale – and I’m talking an actual relaxed walk, not that frantic tourist shuffle with luggage bouncing behind you. The street itself is this quiet residential stretch that locals actually live on, which means you get that authentic Strasbourg vibe without the tour groups marching past your window at dawn. There’s this little boulangerie two blocks down that does these incredible pain au chocolat (they run out by 10 AM, fair warning), and honestly, starting your morning there then wandering back with coffee just feels right. The Thiergarten park is practically at your doorstep – well, technically it’s across the street and down a bit, but you can see the trees from the windows, and it’s where half the neighborhood walks their dogs in the evening.
What I really appreciated was how the space actually works for travelers. The apartment feels lived-in rather than sterile – there’s proper kitchen equipment if you want to hit the morning market and cook something, decent WiFi that doesn’t cut out every twenty minutes, and the bed is genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses, so that matters). The bathroom’s compact but functional, with good water pressure and one of those European shower setups that actually makes sense once you figure it out. Parking can be a bit tricky in this neighborhood – there’s street parking but it fills up, especially during the week when locals are around. I’d honestly recommend the nearby public lot if you’re driving; it’s worth the few extra euros for the peace of mind. The building itself has that classic Alsatian charm without being overly precious about it, and the check-in process was refreshingly straightforward – no twenty-minute spiel about amenities you’ll never use.
Look, this isn’t going to be the fanciest place you’ve ever stayed, and that 7.9 rating feels about right – it’s solid, reliable, and does what it promises without any unnecessary fuss. But there’s something to be said for a place where you can actually imagine living for a few days rather than just sleeping between tourist activities. You’re close enough to walk into Petite France when you want that postcard-perfect Strasbourg experience, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the crowds and noise when you just want to decompress. Plus, being near the station means day trips to Colmar or even quick hops into Germany are totally doable without the hassle of navigating across the entire city first.

Tge Location, the living room and kitchen, quiet
What could be improved: The bed was Not large enough to Share with a kid that turns and rolls all the time.Good – Gábor from Hungary – 4 August 2024 (7/10)
What could be improved: There was not information about that you can pick up the key only till 20 o'clock, so I had walk twice 20 minutes with my luggages for the key and they want to charge additional 20 euros for this "service". It is crazy, that you can get the key only within four ours (16:00-20:00)
A comfortable place to stay – Hsin from France – 24 May 2024 (7/10)
proximity to the Strasbourg train station. The masterroom is cozy. Easily accessible to communicate in a situation where we encountered some issue in the sink of the kitchen, they sent a personnel to fix the problem.
What could be improved: There was no extra rack in the shower room to put the clothes.A well-equipped, ideal for a small family, though the space is limited. – Ozan from Albania – 25 May 2025 (5/10)
The apartment is very close to City Gar and easy to access with clear instructions for the key and location. It includes a refrigerator, microwave, and other self-catering essentials. However, the sofa is small and there's limited space for dining (it was very okay for a 2 person and maybe with a kid)
What could be improved: The apartment has a small living area and an old smell. While nothing bad happened, the surrounding area didn’t feel very safe—though this was just a personal impression. (This is just a feeling. We have not experienced any negative situations.)Superb – Raphael from Belgium – 7 May 2025 (9/10)
Beste Lage. Komfortables Apartment. Freundlicher Kontakt.
Logement bien situé – Christine from France – 2 December 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: BruyantTrès bon séjour en plein cœur du centre de Strasbourg – Michel from France – 11 June 2024 (9/10)
